Privacy and the protection of personal data online has become a fiercely debated subject over the last several years. Libraries have traditionally protected patron privacy and confidentiality, and staff are in a perfect position to help the public tackle their concerns around these issues - but how can we address them in a measured and productive fashion? This two part series of webinars addresses this question. In the second webinar we'll discuss using a hands-on approach to teach patrons about privacy. We'll talk about increasing their comfort level with the basics, such as managing cookies and adjusting browser settings, and learn about a variety of applications, browser plug-ins (etc.) you might recommend to patrons looking for an added layer of protection on home or work computers.
