The document proposes a photography project focused on the urban environment of York, England. It will shoot photos at locations around York like the train station, river, city walls, market, and Clifford's tower that capture the feel of an urban setting. The techniques to be used include photomontage, where separate image pieces are combined in Photoshop using the automate and photo merge tools to construct the composite image in an interesting way. This technique was chosen after seeing a sample image using it that made an otherwise dull urban scene eye-catching.

1. Proposal
Subjects:
The subject that I am going to base my photography around is urban environment. I have a
very interesting urban environment on my doorstep that I am able to use for experimental
photography.
Locations:
I am planning to shoot out of college in the city of York. I am going to go to locations with an
urban environment feel. The potential locations in York that I am planning on shooting at
are the train station, down by the river, the walls of York, The Shambles/Market, Clifford’s
tower. These locations show a lot of an urban environment that will be exactly what I want
from my images.
Techniques:
The techniques I am going to use are a Photomontage which is an image broken down into
different pieces and then put together to make the image. I will use this technique in the
Photoshop where there is a tool on the navigation bar called automate which allows me to
carry out this technique. Then using the photo merge tool I can upload the images to
Photoshop and reposition them in the tool for it to construct the technique.

2. Reasoning:
My reason for using this technique is that when researching I saw an image that was from
the urban environment area and it had this technique. The technique on the image worked
really well. Following this I tried an image out for myself as a quick sample image and I really
liked what the result was. It turned a picture that potentially is quite boring to look at into
something interesting and eye catching. So this is my reasoning for choosing this technique.
