Pronouns replace nouns in sentences. They can be subjects or objects and show possession. Common pronouns include I, you, he, she, it, we, they, me, him, her, us, them, mine, yours, his, hers, its, our, theirs. Pronouns must agree with the noun they are replacing in terms of person, number, and gender.
A pronoun is a word that stands in for a noun, often to avoid the need to repeat the same noun over and over. Like nouns, pronouns can refer to people, things, concepts, and places. Most sentences contain at least one noun or pronoun.
