Roy Hill contracted Samsung C&T to undertake concrete and earthworks for the Roy Hill iron ore project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, with a value of AU $200 million. The project involves 53,000 cubic meters of structural concrete, 800,000 cubic meters of backfill and excavation, 15km of underground piping, and 5km of rail works for stockpiles and conveyors. It commenced in April 2014 and was scheduled to be completed by June 2015, employing up to 660 personnel at its peak.
