NRW has been awarded a $140 million contract by Rio Tinto to develop the Marra Mamba iron ore deposits in the Pilbara region of Western Australia over a 24 month period. The scope of work includes construction of haul roads, stockpiles, waste dumps and other infrastructure, production mining including drilling and blasting, haulage of high grade ore 12km to an existing plant, and supplying and operating two 5Mtpa crushing plants. NRW will utilize excavators, loaders, dump trucks, road trains, dozers, graders and water trucks to complete the project which will produce 10Mtpa of saleable ore product.
