It was the first time I was visiting an old age home (India) with
two of my friends which is an old age home for orphans and aged
people and even new born babies are left there. We can see old
age homes all across the world. Now it has become a global
phenomenon, people don’t have time to care their parents and
children. Our values and bond have been completely collapsed.
Unfortunately, even the best old age home has old people and
children’s are unhappy, lonely and sad. Visitors were allowed to
meet only for fixed hours.
A moment that I can never forget was when one of the ladies cried
out heavily with pain because she could not believe the fact that
her son deceivingly brought her there to be left all by herself,
without him. She further mentioned how she still remembers the
memories with her son when he was a child, and that how much
affection and love she held for him even now, and that she still
craves him out of care and desperate love. She suffered intense
depression because what his son recompensed her with. I talked
with those unfortunate parents (has different section of men and
women) and collected fond memories. I learnt a lot from them.
Many parents were still hoping that someday their children’s will
come and ask them take them back home. Some were waiting
when that time will come. Some were hopeless!
Science and even the best writers fail to explain the affection,
bonding and love between a child and a mother. Every parent
want their children to be happy and blessed. Then, Why these
people are suffering at this age? Has the time not come for us to
realize what we owe to our parents of duty and recompense? That
we can never return their countless favors upon us? That there
can be no justified return for their immense care and affection
towards us, ever since when we were weak and fragile as infants?
Definitely our parents are our identity, moreover the greatest
piece of our lives. If we lose our identity then no sooner we too
shall be forgotten and lost.
2. Describe the worst nightmare you ever had. What led to it?
How you reacted and how you felt at the end of the
experience?
It started when I was just chilling like I normally do at home when
the news came on and said the sun was raining down on earth and
would end all life. Right then it was in the Maharashtra, Madhya
Pradesh area, so considerably far away, but it was heading
northeast towards us. My parents decided we should have all our
extended family members and have one last party before we all
die. They came over and, we tried to have a good time, but none of
us even cracked a smile knowing we would not be there in less
than an hour. I looked out the window in one point of the party
and saw the most horrifying, but yet beautiful, thing I've ever
seen. It looked like stars from the galaxy raining down on some
place far away. It took me a minute to register that it was the sun.
I began to panic and ran to my mom and said "Mom! Mom! Is that
the sun?"
She calmly looked out the window and nodded slowly but surely. I
asked my aunt if it would kill us, even though I already knew the
answer, and she said "No, wait, yes it will when it comes to us".
So we all just stood there looking out the window as the streaks of
sun came rapidly towards us. The worst part of the dream is that I
had many regrets and stuff I hadn't done yet. I was going to do so
much that day, I was gonna play football with my friends, I was
going to go on my most productive run, and I was going to ace
that final exam that I had been studying for, but I could not do any
of those at all because everyone was gonna die. I just stared
hopelessly out the window as the destruction of earth happened
right before my eyes. I felt many emotions at once, hopelessness,
loneliness, guilt, and eagerness to do the stuff I would never do.
Even though I was dreaming, I could feel these emotions clearly
like it was actually happening. I saw an explosion in the distance
and I hoped that I would die a quick, painless death. The steaks
moved rapidly close to us and I saw they turned into fried eggs
when they hit the ground. There was a huge streak heading right
towards the window we were watching and I woke up, relieved
and happy that it was only just a dream. I promised myself that I
would do the things I am destined to do as soon as possible rather
than wait for them. I had this dream because I had been waiting to
do these things, and I need to do them now, and that is what I am
going to do!
3. Write an original short story in which a secret, a personal
diary and an orphan play an important role.
Amar was an orphan who used to work for a royal family. His
master owned a very precious diamond. This diamond had been
gifted to him by one of the great Maharajas. He had kept this
matter a secret and no one knew about it. But he had the habit of
writing a diary. One day while cleaning the orphan came across
his personal diary. From that he got to know about the diamond
which had been missing since a few days. Amar was a very brave
boy and he loved his master. So he kept lookng for some hint to
find the diamond.
One day he was working in the backyard, he spotted three men
standing behind the bushes and keenly watching his house. They
looked like thieves. One of them was pointed towards Amar and
said something. Amar pretended that he had not noticed them.
He went inside the house and quickly disguised himself. He wore a
big wig of long white hair and caught hold of a walking stick. He
then rushed out of the back gate and waited for those three
thieves to move. He quietly went behind them, they reached a
forest.
After that they went to a river and took a boat. Amar also got into
another boat and pretended to be an old man. After crossing the
river the thieves went to the airport. They had plans of going to
another city by plane and selling the diamond there. But Amar
was too smart for them. He followed them closely and grabbed the
suitcase from their hands as soon as they entered the airport.
Then he rushed to the airport authorities.
The officers were surprised to see the missing diamond when they
opened the suitcase. They caught the thieves and sent them to jail.
Amar came back with the diamond to his master's house. The
master was very happy to find the lost diamond. He praised Amar
for his clever and courageous act.
