The growth of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is leading to transformation in our workplaces. Professor Klaus Schwab of the World Economic Forum is calling this change The Fourth Industrial Revolution. There are mixed predictions about AI and automation: some people see a reduction in the need for some jobs while predicting an increase in others. There is no doubt AI is changing the nature of work and learning.
In this presentation you’ll get an insider’s view into--
- Some of the jargon behind the technologies e.g. what data scientists mean when they talk about ‘training a model’
- How AI is being used in L&D today to gain insights and automate learning
- Why you should be looking to use chatbots in your learning programs
- How to get started with recommendation engines
- What the issues and challenges are using AI in learning.
- Even if you aren’t a technical person you will get an understanding of leading edge technologies by attending this webinar.
Welcome to "Empowering Education: AI Tools for Students"! In this presentation, we delve into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its transformative impact on the learning journey. I'm Graduating Soon. Help! How Do I Get into the Tech Field?Tessa Mero
The tech field is booming and more and more companies are moving to be fully remote, giving more options to work at different tech companies. There are so many software engineering jobs open, but it seems so difficult to achieve! A big dream so close, but yet so far away. Whether you are still in college or freshly graduated, the earlier you start the process, the better your chances of getting hired are.
I've been in the tech field for 9 years now, and part of it was teaching programming at a college, working with students, and also being a student myself, I clearly see a pattern of how you can become "zero to successful" if you follow a very simple plan. I've mentored countless students as well as junior developers throughout my career. So, what's the plan?

Designing to save lives: Government technical documentation Laurian Vega
In this presentation the speakers will discuss the methods and strategies of writing technical communication in the design of software for the government sector with the broader goal of evaluating best practices for how to create a positive user experience for a particular user group. Creating software for the government, and specifically in defense contracting, involves understanding a specific set of user needs and a variety of command and control net-centric contexts ranging from real-time analytics, cyber-situational awareness, to strategic and operational planning. The best practices for designing and writing for such a diverse set of needs involves tight integration with the software development team, stakeholders, and users such that the right words and elements are incorporated into the interface and that the technical documentation properly reflects the software’s features. The presenters will further discuss examples of content strategy driving from their industry experience and expertise.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

iPhone Apps
Whereever project managers go, PMs can have access
to their project world through iPhone apps. Many of
these apps or similar apps may be found for Android
phones.
Calendar. Meetings, meetings, and more meetings.
Where would I be without my Calendar app? The app
allows me to check times, locations, and attendees while
outside of my office. I can quickly check participant’s
availability and schedule a meeting.
Camera. I often use Write On - Cling On Sheets or a
white marker board during my project meetings. After
the meeting, I take photos of the notes. Minutes are
completed from the photos.
Kindle for iPhone. I buy most of my books using the
www.pmsouth.com 7
8. one-click option in Amazon. I rarely buy a hard copy
book. Why? First, I get great discounts on most books.
Second, I can mark pages with bookmarks, highlight in
different colors, and make notes in the book. Third,
Kindle allows you to filter and find things by Bookmarks,
Notes, or different Color Highlights. The search feature
also allows the reader to find particular words or phrases.
Feedly. Feedly is one place to store, read, and share what
matters to you. Feedly provides a nice, clean interface.
Add the feeds of articles you wish to read. I have
categories such as Project Management, Leadership,
Business Analysis, and Risk Management.
Evernote. This is one of my favorite apps! Think of it as
your personal storage system. I use Evernote’s Clipper
tool to store articles to Evernote. Evernote provides a
simple but powerful tagging system that allows me to tag
articles for quick filter and retrieval (e.g., Tags: Blogging,
ERM, Project Risk Management, Public Speaking,
Software Development). I also use Evernote to record
voice notes, take and save photos, send emails to
Evernote with file attachments (e.g., Word docs or .pdf
files), retrieve and read articles and perform research.
Messages. I text team members for a variety of reasons.
For example, if I see that I am going to be late for a
meeting - I send a quick text. I sometimes take a picture
with the Camera and send the picture through text with
comments.

9. Google Maps. When traveling, I use Google Maps to find
destinations. I also use Maps when completing my
expense reports to find out the distance of the trip.
Weather Channel. I use the Weather Channel app to
check the weather as I plan trips.
Pandora. I enjoy listening to music while preparing
presentations, writing reports, or catching up on emails. I
listen to soothing music.
Digits. If you need a nice ease-to-use calculator, give this
a try. You can add numbers, make notations beside
numbers, and email the calculator tape.
LastPass. I have tried different password protection
programs. LastPass is my favorite. I have lots of userIDs
and passwords. I have organized everything into
categories (e.g., Favorites, Work, Family) for easy, quick
access.
LinkedIn. I am an avid LinkedIn user. I participate in a
number of project management and risk management
LinkedIn Groups. I enjoy sharing with others and
learning from others.
Twitter. I use the desktop version of Twitter most of the
time. However, when I am in remote locations, I turn to
my phone to send and read tweets about project
management.
Stitcher. Listen to podcasts on your iPhone, iPad,
Android or PC -anytime, anywhere.
