The project aimed to improve social cohesion and peace building in refugee-affected areas near Peshawar, Pakistan through restoring social services and infrastructure. It was implemented from 2012-2014 with a budget of $12.8 million. Key activities included improving education, health, livelihoods, and institutional support. The project addressed challenges from the influx of Afghan refugees such as strain on local services, environmental degradation, and the need for sustainable solutions until conditions in Afghanistan improve.
