This document provides a summary of system indicators related to education in Nepal from 1999-2005. It analyzes trends in indicators such as the percentage of new students with early childhood education experience, student-teacher ratios, enrollment numbers, gender parity, and the number of students receiving scholarships. Some key findings are that the percentage of new students with early childhood education grew until 2003 but declined in 2004-2005, student-teacher ratios remained highest in the Tarai region and fluctuated between 1:30-1:40, and the number of students receiving scholarships, especially Dalits and girls, substantially increased in 2004-2005. The report aims to monitor progress on education goals in Nepal and help improve data collection.
