  1. Antara inovasi pendidikan yang dilaksanakan bagi menambah nilai graduan ialah memperkenalkan penawaran program secara kerjasama industri iaitu berkonsepkan work-based learning. Inisiatif ini juga lebih dikenali sebagai program 2u2i, 3u1i atau 2u1i. Konsep pelaksanaan program ini ialah pelajar akan mengikuti 2 tahun pengajian di institusi dan 1 tahun di industri atau mana-mana tempoh yang ditetapkan oleh institusi-industri. Kelebihan yang dapat diperoleh oleh pelajar ialah pelajar dapat menjalani pengajian secara terus di industri dan penilaian di industri juga dibuat oleh penyelia industri yang terlatih. Secara tidak langsung ia akan menambah baik kemahiran pelajar yang mengikuti program ini dalam malahirkan graduan yang bersedia untuk pasaran industri.   Selain jalinan erat dan kerjasama dengan industri, penerapan nilai-nilai keusahawanan turut dilaksanakan di semua IPT. Para pelajar secara berkumpulan diberikan tugasan khusus dalam merancang, menyedia dan menjalankan projek usahawan dengan pemantauan penyelia. Pelaksaan tugasan secara praktikal ini dapat memupuk kemahiran usahawan kepada pelajar sekaligus melahirkan pelajar yang kreatif, berani menghadapi tekanan, bijak mengurus dan mampu mencipta peluang pekerjaan kepada lebih ramai graduan apabila telah bergraduat nanti.   Pelbagai program kerjasama yang terjalin antara pihak industri dan kementerian dengan bermatlamat meningkatkan kebolehpasaran graduan telah dilaksanakan dan berfokus kepada program berimpak tinggi. Antaranya adalah melalui pengenalan Academia Talent Exchange Programme (AI-xChange) :CEO@ Faculty Programme, di mana pelajar-pelajar didedahkan dengan perkongsian pengalaman dan kemahiran kolaborasi antara akademia dan pihak industri, melalui syarahan dan slot interaksi dengan pelbagai tokoh syarikat berkaitan kerajaan (GLC) dan industri terkemuka antarabangsa serta tempatan. Sehingga kini, program ini telah berjaya mendapat penyertaan seramai 72 orang CEO yang terdiri daripada pelbagai sektor industri.   Program kolaborasi memberi impak dalam melahirkan graduan yang berpadanan dengan kehendak industri semasa di samping dapat memenuhi pasaran pekerjaan seperti yang berikut:   1. Engineering@UM-Industrial Innovation Centre di kampus UM yang mengandungi makmal industri yang menempatkan fasiliti research and development bagi kegunaan bersama-sama para jurutera syarikat, penyelidik universiti, staf universiti dan pelajar. Syarikat yang terlibat merangkumi penyertaan daripada 5 syarikat global iaitu Motorola Solutions bagi bidang wireless technology, Daikin bagi bidang air-conditioning, Ossur bagi bidang orthopedic, Rohde & Schwarz bagi bidang wireless communication dan Proton bagi bidang automotive.   2. Samsung Malaysia bekerjasama dengan Universiti Teknikal Melaka (UTeM) dengan menubuhkan Samsung 'Internet of Things' (IoT) Academy yang memberi impak positif kepada universiti dan juga syarikat Samsung. Pewujudan akademi ini memberi inspirasi dan membuka ruang yang luas kepada generasi muda untuk mendapat pendedahan dan dilatih menjadi usahawan teknologi seterusnya melahirkan lebih ramai tenaga mahir mengikut spesifikasi yang diperlukan di samping memberi nilai tambah kepada graduan universiti tempatan.   3. Ericsson Malaysia telah bekerjasama dengan Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) membentuk sebuah pusat iaitu UTM-ERICSSON IC5G berhubung Research & Development dalam teknologi 5G untuk rantau Asia Tenggara yang juga merupakan pertama seumpamanya di Malaysia dan terletak di kampus UTM Kuala Lumpur. Pusat ini mempunyai inovasi 5G, makmal penyelidikan 5G serta ruang pembelajaran 5G. Ericsson dan UTM telah bersetuju untuk membantu di dalam hubungan penyelidikan, pertukaran perdagangan dan maklumat dengan matlamat untuk bekerjasama di dalam projek penyelidikan bersama dan untuk merealisasikan impak 5G ke atas industri serta masyarakat. Pusat ini akan membantu memacu negara menjadi pusat kecekapan dan inovasi untuk 5G. Melalui perkongsian akademia-industri ini, para penyelidik dari UTM dan Ericsson akan bekerjasama dalam menyumbang ke arah pembangunan industri 5G, khususnya untuk konteks Malaysia. Tiga aktiviti kolaborasi utama yang dilaksanakan meliputi:      a) Penyelidikan & Pembangunan  b) Latihan Berorientasikan Keperluan Industri  c) Pameran Teknologi   4. CIMB Investment Bank dengan kerjasama UiTM Segamat Johor pula telah menyediakan CIMB Trading Room bagi mewujudkan ruang suasana pembelajaran secara praktikal bersama-sama penglibatan industri. Matlamat penubuhan trading room ini adalah untuk membolehkan pelajar Fakulti Pengurusan Perniagaan mempraktikkan segala teori pembelajaran yang ditimba secara terus dengan menggunakan platform itrade@CIMB sebagai platform pelaburan sebenar.   5. Firma perakaunan Salihin Associates dengan kerjasama Universiti Malaysia Terengganu dan Universti Teknologi MARA mewujudkan Teaching Accounting Firm (TAF) di dalam universiti. Konsep ”Teaching Accountancy Firm” ini adalah dengan melibatkan pelajar Sarjana Muda Perakaunan yang ditempatkan di TAF seawal tahun 2 pengajian yang mengikuti pembelajaran perakaunan mengikut jadual yang telah disusun.   6. Pelaksanaan program Pusat Kecemerlangan Industri (Industry Centre of Excellence, ICoE) bagi meningkatkan kolaborasi antara IPT dengan pihak industri melalui pembangunan kurikulum, latihan industri dan pendedahan industri kepada pelajar dan tenaga pengajar IPT. Program ICoE merupakan kaedah pendedahan secara hands-on, soft skill dan hard skill kepada pelajar dan tenaga pengajar mengikut kehendak khusus dari pihak industri. Salah satu program ICoE yang berjaya dilaksanakan ialah Microsoft Professional Program Data Science iaitu dengan kerjasama Microsoft Malaysia bertujuan melatih seramai 240 orang pelajar di dalam bidang pengetahuan sains data. Kurikulum yang ditawarkan di sepanjang latihan adalah bersifat industry-leading curiculums dan di akhir program pelajar akan diberikan sijil profesional daripada pihak Microsoft yang diiktiraf oleh pihak industri.
