RESTAURANT
 From my point of view a restaurant is a business dedicated to
offering different types of dishes, food, with an specialty
specific like Mediterranean Food, Asiatic Food, Mexican
Food, etc.
 The restaurant offer a service of quality to customers, for
satisfaction of both.
CAFETERIA
 Is a Catering Establishment
Snack and meals usually not
have dishes.
 A restaurant in which patrons
wait on themselves, carrying
their food to tables from
counters where it is displayed
and served.
 a lunchroom or dining hall, as
in a factory, office, or school,
where food is served from
counters or dispensed from
vending machines or where
food brought from home may
be eaten.
TYPE OF FOOD
SERVED
 In addition, there are often stations where
customers order food and wait while it is prepared,
particularly for items such as hamburgers or tacos
which must be served hot and can be quickly
prepared.
 For some food items and drinks, such as sodas,
water, or the like, customers collect an empty
container, pay at the check-out, and fill the
container after the check-out.
PATRON TREATMENT
 Instead of table service, there are food-serving
counters/stalls, either in a line or allowing arbitrary
walking paths. Customers take the food they
require as they walk along, placing it on a tray.
EXAMPLES
 A lunchroom or dining hall, as in a factory, office, or school,
where food is served from counters or dispensed from
vending machines or where food brought from home may be
eaten.

  • 2. RESTAURANT  From my point of view a restaurant is a business dedicated to offering different types of dishes, food, with an specialty specific like Mediterranean Food, Asiatic Food, Mexican Food, etc.  The restaurant offer a service of quality to customers, for satisfaction of both.
  • 3. CAFETERIA  Is a Catering Establishment Snack and meals usually not have dishes.  A restaurant in which patrons wait on themselves, carrying their food to tables from counters where it is displayed and served.  a lunchroom or dining hall, as in a factory, office, or school, where food is served from counters or dispensed from vending machines or where food brought from home may be eaten.
  • 4. TYPE OF FOOD SERVED  In addition, there are often stations where customers order food and wait while it is prepared, particularly for items such as hamburgers or tacos which must be served hot and can be quickly prepared.  For some food items and drinks, such as sodas, water, or the like, customers collect an empty container, pay at the check-out, and fill the container after the check-out.
  • 5. PATRON TREATMENT  Instead of table service, there are food-serving counters/stalls, either in a line or allowing arbitrary walking paths. Customers take the food they require as they walk along, placing it on a tray.

  • 13. PATRON TREATMENT Usually don’t offer full table services but may offer non-disposable plates and cutlery. Serves moderately-priced food in a casual atmosphere.
  • 15. FAST CASUAL- DINING RESTAURANT  CHARACTERISTICS  Is a restaurant that serves moderately priced food in a casual Atmosphere.  Except for buffet-style restaurants, casual dining restaurants typically provide table service.
  • 16. TYPE OF FOOD SERVED  Their food tends to be presented as more upscale.  As Gourmet breads and Organic Ingredients.
  • 17. PATRON TREATMENT  Typically provide table service.  Usually independently owned and operated.  Casual dining restaurants often have a full bar with separate bar staff, a larger beer menu and a limited wine menu.
  • 19. COFFEEHOUSE  CHARACTERISTICS:  Are Casual Restaurants without Table Service that emphasize coffee and other beverage.  Limited Selection of cold Food such Pastries and Baguettes.
  • 20. TYPE OF FOOD SERVED  Coffee  Cold Food & Pastries.  Sandwiches  Baguettes  Beagels
  • 21. PATRON TREATMENT  Their distinguishing feature is that they allow patrons to relax and socialize on their premises for long periods of time without pressure to leave promptly after eating, frequently chosen as sites for meetings.
  • 23. PUB  Is a Bar That Sometimes Serves Simple Food Fare.  Pubs were primarily drinking establishments with food in a secondary position.
  • 24. TYPE OF FOOD SEVED  High-Quality Pub Food and concomitantly high prices.  Has a Large Selection of Beers and ales on tap.
  • 25. PATRON TREATMENT  In these Establishments all the decor ambience revolve around a Specific Topic. and
  • 27. BISTROS AND BRASSIERE  Restaurant Serving Moderately Priced hearty meals “Comfort Foods”.  The service is fast  Offered variety in cafés are places family.
  • 28. TYPE OF FOOD SERVED  Usually indicates a continental Menu.  Food is of a regular-sized and lightweight.
  • 29. PATRON TREATMENT  Usually Have More Refined Decor, Fewer tables finer Foods and higher prices.  The service is warm  Meals are prepared at the time of this writing, the  Atmosphere is nice  Prices are moderate
  • 30. EXAMPLES  Especially in Paris, bistros have become increasingly popular with tourists.
  • 31. ETHNIC RESTAURANT  Restaurants that feature foods of different nationality of cuisines.  They range from quick-service to upscale.  Specialize in a particular multicultural cuisine not specifically accommodated by any other listed categories
  • 32. TYPE OF FOOD SERVED  Depending on the specialty and the thematic.
  • 33. PATRON TREATMENT  In these establisments all the decor and ambience revolve around a specific topic.  The treatment will depend on the region or focus of the restaurant.
