1. The city of Tlmače
 Tlmače town consists of the original old
village of Tlmače, also called the lower
part of Tlmače, on the left bank of the
Hron and new part – housing estate
called Lipník estate on the right bank of
the river Hron. The lower part has 689
inhabitants and a housing estate Lipník
has 3,832 inhabitants.
 On the town emblem of Tlmače there is a
dove with an ear of grain in its beak, and
below it are placed a two parts of a plow
on a blue background.
 The name Tlmače originated a long time
ago as a Talmanach or Tolmach.
 It came from the word Interpreter,
because long time ago were living here
people, who who were interpreting,
translating and giving information to
those the travellers

3. Mayor of Tlmače
 The mayor of Tlmače is
Miroslav Kupči. He is the head
of the town, his job is to
supervise all town stuff and
make sure that everything in
the is in order.
 He is settled in a town hall
building, right next to our
kindergarten.

4. We are traveling to the city of
Tlmače
When we enter Tlmače we can
see a large factory with a tall
chimney. It´s called
TATRAVAGÓNKA. Many people
work in this factory. They are
making large metal wagons for
railways.
Near this factory there is a large
bus and train station.

8. Lift your legs up, we're going above
the water...
 The Hron river flows
between old and new
part of Tlmače. Life in
the river is very rich for
various kinds of fish.
River is surrounded with
birds, swans, wild
geese, ducks, and
cranes,mostly durring
the spring and autumn,
caused by theire
migration.

9. ...we're going across the bridge
 So our feet will not
get wet, we'd rather
cross the river by the
bridge.
 This bridge over the
Hron connects the
lower part of Tlmače
with Lipník housing
estate.

10. ...What has happened???
 Our bus just stopped.
What has
happened??? Did it
go wrong???
 No, it just ran out of
fuel - diesel. What will
we do???
 We will fill it up at the
gas station

some machines and
many other useful
things

 Everybody who
listened well at the
beginning will know
who works here...
 The mayor and many
of his colleagues work
at the town hall office
and take care of our
town.

and people come
here to have fun,
relax and spend their
leasure time.

relax.

surroundings.
