Republic Act 7832, also known as the Anti-Pilferage of Electricity and Theft of Electric Transmission Lines/Materials Act of 1994, was signed into law on December 8, 1994. The law declares various acts related to electricity theft and transmission line theft unlawful. Section 2 specifies illegal acts related to using electricity without authorization, such as tampering with meters. Section 3 details acts considered theft of electric transmission lines and materials, such as taking equipment without consent or moving it without a permit. The law aims to prevent electricity and transmission line theft in the Philippines.
Cables have three main sections - a conducting core, insulating material, and protective cover. The core carries current using copper or aluminum wires. Insulation prevents current leakage and is made of rubber, paper, PVC, or other materials. The cover protects the insulation from damage.
Cables are classified by voltage, conductor material, insulation type, and number of cores. Low voltage cables operate at 250/440V while high voltage cables are 650/1100V. Cables have two, three, or more cores to carry current to different phases and the neutral. Three-and-a-half and four core cables have strands of different sizes to reduce costs when the neutral carries less current.
This document discusses various methods for testing and locating faults in power cables, including DC hipot (high potential) testing and AC hipot testing. It provides details on the types of cables, their typical designs and insulation faults. DC hipot testing can effectively detect insulation faults but may accelerate deterioration in aged cables. AC hipot testing is commonly used for new cable installation testing but the equipment is large and expensive. Other methods like VLF hipot testing are better for maintenance testing on cables in service. The document compares the advantages and limitations of different cable testing methods.

Copper and aluminum are common materials used for electrical conductors. Copper is a better conductor but aluminum is lighter weight and cheaper. Different types of wires include PVC-coated wires, which are durable, long-lasting, and resistant to water, heat, oil and UV light. Conductors with higher resistance, like tungsten and nichrome, are sometimes used to convert electrical energy into heat, light, and sound. The size and type of wire or cable must match the power rating required for safe use, as supplying too much current can cause overheating and damage insulation, potentially resulting in a short circuit.

2. Przewód elektryczny to element obwodu elektrycznego służący do prowadzenia prądu elektrycznego wzdłuż określonej drogi.
Do oznaczeń należy stosować liczby arabskie.
Poszczególne litery symbolu oznaczają: K - kabel o żyłach miedzianych o izolacji i powłoce papierowej Y - umieszczone przed K oznacza powłokę polietylenową, a po K izolację polwinitową.
