ON SITE ACTIVITY DETAILS
1- Call the NOC and report that you have reached the site and you will perform a preventive
maintenance, Check if Spare Parts availability on the site.
2- SITE AUDIT – Perform Site Audit and record your observation; environments, UPS,
grounding, etc. and inform your observation with NOC.
3- CABLES/CONNECTORING – All cables and connectors need to be checked or replaced,
connectors can be losing and causing problem what have to be eliminated.
4- EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT – If any equipment found faulty and has to be replaced, use
the spare sent by the NOC and do whatever is necessary to accomplish it.
5- DISH RE-ALIGNMENT – Adjust Azimuth and Elevation of the antenna and perform the
CROSS POLARIZATION TEST procedure if required together with Satellite Service
Provider.
6- UPS – Check operability and status.
7- FINAL TESTS – Perform tests with NOC to assure the VOICE and DATA applications are
working properly, FTP have to be used as a tool to measure the site performance. Work
with POC at the site testing local applications and log it. Send below checklist and send it
to the PM as well as final photos for evaluation.
8- CLEAN UP – IDU Rack and ODU equipment have to be cleaned, make sure the ODU is
sealed and wash the dish as well. Look for any other trash around the equipment and ask
help from POC to get it cleaned.
9- CLOSE OUT – Record all your notes to this report and update it with new photos for IDU
and ODU, the serial numbers for the replaced equipment and new ones has to be
reported as well. Pack any faulty equipment and instruct POC to ship it back to the NOC
as soon as possible. Prepare site visit report and send it to PM. Call NOC and ask for
permission to leave the site.
