Drive Route Checklist
Drive Route Basics
All sectors to be covered during the test
Carry a hardcopy of the drive route direction, while DT reaches the
Instruct the driver to follow the drive route
Drive Route Guidelines
Best server plot Drive route to be collected by SOLPAR DT engineer from Circle RF
Lead before he reaches the site.
All motorable roads covering all three sectors of the site are to be driven. The
motorable roads which are not accessible or can’t be driven due to any blockage
should be captured with a snapshot for proof.
If SCFT is performed on a standalone site then each sector to be driven up to serving
cell RSRP as per morphology in the main lobe as defined in under mentioned table:
Morphology Type Coverage Threshold (RSRP dBm)
Dense Urban -107
Medium Urban -110
Suburban -113
Rural -116
Morphology RSRP levels
Drive Route Guidelines..
If SCFT is done on a site that is not a standalone site and the neighbor site is radiating
then the drive route should be done until the handover happens with the neighbor site,
but if the Neighbor site is not radiating then the drive should be done until neighbor site.
The stationary test should only be done in the main lobe of serving antenna
DT Engineer will instruct the car driver for the direction to be followed based on pre-
defined drive route based on GPS location in drive test tool. Engineer will carry the drive
route handmade copy, during the SCFT test.

Summary
Perform regular testing of drive-test UE’s
Preparations for SCFT consist of TSSR review, eNB parameter verification from
LSM-R, availability of drive route and checklists. Before proceeding to the site
make sure you have these
TSSR gives details about eNB physical parameters such as antenna height,
azimuth, tilt, pictures of obstruction, site drawings and map views
LSM-R parameters include details such as VSWR, Tx power and PCI
Ensure FTP connectivity before proceeding to site
Cover all sectors during the drive
Physical Checks at Site
Physical checks during site survey
Physical verification of site with respect to data given in TSSR/Cell ref. Need to
check under mentioned points.
Once DT engineer reaches the site he should validate the PCI as seen on field
with cell ref file and then perform a walk test around the site in clockwise and
anticlockwise direction for checking the inter-sector handover and correct PCI
as seen in cell ref: file.
Site location in terms of Lat/Long, Site name and address, Antenna azimuth,
Antenna height, Antenna Tilt (Mechanical Tilt), Antenna physical blockage in
main/side lobe (if any) & Tower type.
If there is any deviation in actual versus TSSR/Cell ref then SOLPAR engineer
will try to rectify it on field with due permission from Samsung RF lead and if
he is unable to do so then the same shall be informed to Samsung and the DT
should move over to the next site.
If the deviation cannot be corrected as confirmed by Samsung RF lead, then
the same has to be updated in site forge by the DT engineer.
Physical checks during site survey
Only after completing physical verification and passing the same SOLPAR
engineer will start performing SCFT activity.
In case of tower/antenna access issue from bird nests, honeybees comb etc.
the corresponding Samsung area manager should be informed and DT should
move to the next site.
SCFT once started should be completed within the same day, until and unless
there is some constraint that is making the process shift to other day.
Physical blockage in direction of serving antenna should be noted and
snapshot should be taken. The same comment with snaps has to be updated in
the SCFT report by SOLPAR project manager. The SCFT has to be carried on
however.
Measuring Site Co-ordinates
Check the battery of GPS (72 channel GPS)
Point GPS towards clear, open skies for accuracy
GPS Setting time >5 min & GPS number of satellites > 4
Low Battery voltages and rare Geomagnetic storms may result in erroneous
GPS readings
GPS should not be used for Ground Elevation readings as the inaccuracy can
be well over 30m
Stand in the center of the site location (GBM, RTT,RTP)
Once the satellites are acquired, note co-ordinates for N & W in degree - de
cimal format.
Update this information into check list for pre-post comparison and for data
base tracking
Checking Antenna Azimuth
Stand in front of the Antenna
When taking compass readings, keep at least 8m distance from any magnetic,
metal, or current carrying structures such as towers, vehicles, or cables for
correct readings
Open compass and wait a moment till the compass needle is stationary
Check the antenna azimuth with reference to North & measure the value in
degrees
Compare the observed value with the one in the TSSR
In case a mismatch is detected, make corrections on site
Mention the values in the check list for pre-post comparison and for database
tracking
Check Azimuth – marking on map
Check the service direction of the antenna
Mark the main serving direction of the antenna on the map
Tower Height Measurement – Laser Meter
Stand on the edge of tower
Press start button and then press “measure” button
Wait for 2-3 minutes or check the ground or building
from the built-in binoculars in the laser meter
Press the “measure” button again
Take pictures of the value in meters
Tower Height Measurement - Tape
Drop the measuring tape from the edge of the tower platform
Team member at the ground end will record the value
Antenna Height – RTP / RTT
Antenna Height – GBT / GBM
Compare the value on TSSR with actual
result
Correct the Antenna Height if mismatch
with TSSR Report
Antenna Mechanical Tilt Measurement
Bring tilt measure in contact with antenna on the back side & center(①)
Adjust the tilt measure (②) to level off (③)
Check tilt of antenna (④), as per the picture red line is on 3rd mark from zero, w
hich means that the tilt is 6 degrees {one mark = 2 degree and consider the bott
om scale}
Compare the value on TSSR with actual result
Correct the Mechanical Tilt in case of mismatch with the TSSR Report
Mention the values into check list for pre-post comparison and for database trac
king
To change tilt, loosen all nuts, adjust tilt as desired and then tighten them
Drive Test
SCFT Drive Test
After completing physical verification, SOLPAR engineer will start performing
drive test.
Drive test to be performed on all motorable roads.
The mobiles need to be attached on car dashboard while doing drive test.
Check FMS server connectivity to site by downloading test scenarios on “XCAL
Auto Mobile” over mobile.
SCFT drive test activity has two type of tests.
1. Stationary Test
a. Attach
b. VOLTE Short call
2. Moving Test
a. FTP -DL
b. FTP -UL
Stationary Test ( Alpha Sector)
Drive test engineer will start the drive test activity with stationary test.
Move over to Alpha sector and perform following activities
Latch on alpha sector PCI and RSRP, it should have a stable dominant RSRP
level from serving cell, and neighbor cells should not be dominant.
Check GPS status and select destination value of co-ordinates from map
window.
Assign “Stationary-1” call setting with Cycle information & site details, (CYCLE
should remain the same until the complete SCFT test (STATIONARY & MOVING)
ends), if you have to restart the test cause of any issue then issue new and
different cycle number, but it should be same for stationary and moving test
(ideally it should be incremented by 1, every time you repeat the test on same
site), cycle is a reference for naming the log files.
Stationary Test Procedure:
Stationary Test( Alpha Sector)…
Perform under mentioned test by pressing “AUTO CALL” over the s4 mini
phone.
. Stationary Test
a. Attach
b. VOLTE Short call
At the end of “Auto call” press status as “In Progress”.
Press “Auto DRM/DRX Upload” button which is popped up & wait for upload to
finish.
Stationary Test(Beta Sector)
Drive test engineer now moves over towards Beta sector and
performs the following activities during stationary test:
 Check PCI
 Assign “Stationary-2” call setting with cycle information & site details
 Perform under mentioned test by pressing “AUTO CALL” over s4 mini
handset.
a. Attach
b. VOLTE Short call
 At the end of Auto call press status as “In Progress”.
 Press “Auto DRM/DRX Upload” button which is popped up & wait
for upload to finish.

 Assign “Stationary-3” call setting with cycle information & site details
 Perform under mentioned test by pressing “AUTO CALL” over s4 mini
handset.
a. Attach
b. VOLTE Short call
 At the end of “Auto call” presses status as “Completed”.
 Press “Auto DRM/DRX Upload “button which is popped up & wait for
upload to finish
Moving Test
After completion of “Stationary” test now the DT has to go for the “Moving test”, drive test
engineer will use two S4 mini handsets.
There will be two different tests that shall be performed on these handsets.
 One handset for DTDL
 One handset for DTUL
“Moving test” call logging should start by performing a walk test around the site in clockwise and
anticlockwise direction for checking the inter-sector handover within the SCFT site and checking
the correct PCI as seen in cell reference file.
Drive test engineer will carry out the remaining part of moving test while in car in a continuous
log.
Keep checking the PCI of serving cell so as to confirm handover between neighbors of same site.
 Move from Alpha sector to Beta sector to check handover between them.
 Move from Beta sector to Gamma sector to check handover between them.
 Move from Gamma sector to Alpha sector to check handover between them.
 Move from Alpha sector to Gamma sector to check handover between them.
 Move from Gamma sector to Beta sector to check handover between them.
 Move from Beta sector to Alpha sector to check handover between them.
 Make “Coverage footprint” of each sector in all possible drive routes based on Morphology based RSRP
Levels.
 After finishing the clockwise / anti-clockwise routes, You must run through DTR (Drive test route) provided
to you by Samsung RF lead
 NOTE : Samsung RF lead has to provide DTR based on best server plot , as per example attached below. Or
Alternately Samsung RF lead must follow procedures provided by National RF Optimization team to prepare
DTR , This is Mandatory
Moving Test…
Important: If handovers are not happening between neighbor cells then stop the drive
and call up LSMR engineer for handover definition or any alarms related to the same,
and resume the drive, post the resolution of the same.
Press “Stop” after completion of drive on both handset( based on steps
as above) and press status as "Complete” .
Press “Auto DRM/DRX Upload” button which gets popped up in both
handset & wait for upload to finish.
Ask the LSMR engineer to lock the site.
Inform the SOLPAR PM and Samsung area manager about the completion of
the drive and move for the next drive if time permits for the day.
Checklist during drive
If any Attach fail, /Access fail, Handover fail, Sector swap are observed during
drive test then call should be immediately stopped and LSMR engineer should
be contacted for any running alarm. Later fresh drive for the same should be
done post rectification.
During drive test and eNB physical verification if any physical obstruction due
to which drive couldn’t be done on that road then SOLPAR DT engineer needs
to take the snapshot and pass it over to Solpar PM.
If SOLPAR engineer can’t drive around in the clockwise or anticlockwise
direction then he has to mention the reason against the same along with a
snapshot proof. Also if for the stationary test, SOLPAR engineer is unable to go
into the main lobe while still in car, then he must try to walk and go into major
lobe of the sector, if even that is not possible then he should take snaps to
support the same.
The SOLPAR engineer should not wait more than 30 mins (post escalation to
LSMR and self troubleshooting) for any issue resolution at the site. If issue
resolution is taking time, then he should move to the next site.
Post SCFT Drive
All snapshots post SCFT (road and antenna obstructions) should be taken and
sent to SOLPAR Project Manager/ Samsung Area Manager/Circle RF Lead.
Backup of log files in memory card to be taken by the DT (this will required if
any file got corrupted during upload). Same to be handed over to Circle RF
Lead.
Contact LSMR Engineer to lock the site (all three sectors).
Handover the keys back to from where they were taken.
Inform the Solpar PM and Samsung RF lead about completion of the drive test.
Move over to the next site.

1. The LSMR Engineer fetches the dump of above parameter and forwards the logs to cellref te
2. The Cellref team corrects the data in case of mismatch
Azimuth reconciliation process (PA2)
1. ATP 11A Data is considered final, Cellref & BSP to be aligned to 11A (already in progress)
2. Sites have different Azimuth in actual
3. The sector drive test does not match with cellref BSP
PA2 (Azimuth Correction at Site) –
PA2-1: Where Integration is done (To be verified & corrected by SCFT Team)
PA2-2: Where 11A is done, but Integration is pending (To verified & corrected by Integration

PA2-3: Where 11A is not done, QC2 is pending (To verified during QC2 & get corrected before
11A)
PA2-4: Where change of Antenna parameters not possible site, change cellref with RJIL in loop.
At the time of SCFT, the SOLPAR team will be given a print of cellref data, containing the followin
1. Azimuths
2. PCI
3. Site Lat/Long
The SCFT SOLPAR Team to
1. Check the actual Azimuth, and adjust antenna to match cellref, if required.
2. Check the PCI & Site Lat/Long.
3. Record the above data and Carry out the SCFT Test.
4. SOLPAR to be penalized if Azimuth not corrected before SCFT test.
PA2-1: Where Integration is done (To be verified & corrected by SCFT Team)
Hand Over test process (PA3)
1. The HO failure is high
PA3 (HO testing process)
The SCFT SOLPAR Team to
1. Make at least two rounds in each direction (clockwise & anti clockwise).
Modification in SCFT test automation tool
1. A separate test scenario on X-CAL
Ensure sufficient Coverage Samples (PA4)
1. The coverage samples and drive routes should be ensured.
PA4 (Drive Route process)
The Drive Route Should be decided on Google Map within BSP boundaries
1. The BSP to be provided to circle RF Leads
2. It should be possible to super-impose the BSP boundaries over Google map
3. The SOLPAR co-ordinator to take print of Google map with BSP boundaries,
indicate the route on the map and provide to drive test team.
4. Drive test team to follow the map, sign-off & submit.
File upload process (PA5)
1. There is a large NO/PARTIAL REPORT issue due to incomplete upload of files.
PA5 (File Upload Process)
1. The FMS should generate an SMS for the completion of all files
2. The X-CAL should have RED/GREEN indication for upload of mandatory files
Sector Swap Confirmation process (PA6)
1. There are sites where the CPRI cable is swapped with other sector RRH.
PA6 (Sector Swap Confirmation Process)
1. The CPRI swap test will be performed during 11B.
Throughput Confirmation process (PA7)
1. There are sites the throughput observed during SCFT test is too low.
PA7 (Throughput confirmation)
1. Since the KPI is for info only, RJIL should not hold the SCFT.
2. The SOLPAR team should contact circle RF lead if the throughput is lower than
xxMbps, and should not proceed with the SCFT drive.
Stationary Test process (PA8)
1. The Attach & VoLTE KPI failure is high.
PA8 (Stationary Test)
1. There will be two attempts for Attach testing in the X-CAL itself, rather than one.
2. QC1 radio bearer should be mandatory for VoLTE call.
3. If the VoLTE is not successful, the SOLPAR should contact circle RF lead, and
should proceed for Drive Tests.

  • 41. Physical checks during site survey Physical verification of site with respect to data given in TSSR/Cell ref. Need to check under mentioned points. Once DT engineer reaches the site he should validate the PCI as seen on field with cell ref file and then perform a walk test around the site in clockwise and anticlockwise direction for checking the inter-sector handover and correct PCI as seen in cell ref: file. Site location in terms of Lat/Long, Site name and address, Antenna azimuth, Antenna height, Antenna Tilt (Mechanical Tilt), Antenna physical blockage in main/side lobe (if any) & Tower type. If there is any deviation in actual versus TSSR/Cell ref then SOLPAR engineer will try to rectify it on field with due permission from Samsung RF lead and if he is unable to do so then the same shall be informed to Samsung and the DT should move over to the next site. If the deviation cannot be corrected as confirmed by Samsung RF lead, then the same has to be updated in site forge by the DT engineer.
  • 42. Physical checks during site survey Only after completing physical verification and passing the same SOLPAR engineer will start performing SCFT activity. In case of tower/antenna access issue from bird nests, honeybees comb etc. the corresponding Samsung area manager should be informed and DT should move to the next site. SCFT once started should be completed within the same day, until and unless there is some constraint that is making the process shift to other day. Physical blockage in direction of serving antenna should be noted and snapshot should be taken. The same comment with snaps has to be updated in the SCFT report by SOLPAR project manager. The SCFT has to be carried on however.

  • 52. SCFT Drive Test After completing physical verification, SOLPAR engineer will start performing drive test. Drive test to be performed on all motorable roads. The mobiles need to be attached on car dashboard while doing drive test. Check FMS server connectivity to site by downloading test scenarios on “XCAL Auto Mobile” over mobile. SCFT drive test activity has two type of tests. 1. Stationary Test a. Attach b. VOLTE Short call 2. Moving Test a. FTP -DL b. FTP -UL
  • 53. Stationary Test ( Alpha Sector) Drive test engineer will start the drive test activity with stationary test. Move over to Alpha sector and perform following activities Latch on alpha sector PCI and RSRP, it should have a stable dominant RSRP level from serving cell, and neighbor cells should not be dominant. Check GPS status and select destination value of co-ordinates from map window. Assign “Stationary-1” call setting with Cycle information & site details, (CYCLE should remain the same until the complete SCFT test (STATIONARY & MOVING) ends), if you have to restart the test cause of any issue then issue new and different cycle number, but it should be same for stationary and moving test (ideally it should be incremented by 1, every time you repeat the test on same site), cycle is a reference for naming the log files. Stationary Test Procedure:
  • 54. Stationary Test( Alpha Sector)… Perform under mentioned test by pressing “AUTO CALL” over the s4 mini phone. . Stationary Test a. Attach b. VOLTE Short call At the end of “Auto call” press status as “In Progress”. Press “Auto DRM/DRX Upload” button which is popped up & wait for upload to finish.

  • 59. Checklist during drive If any Attach fail, /Access fail, Handover fail, Sector swap are observed during drive test then call should be immediately stopped and LSMR engineer should be contacted for any running alarm. Later fresh drive for the same should be done post rectification. During drive test and eNB physical verification if any physical obstruction due to which drive couldn’t be done on that road then SOLPAR DT engineer needs to take the snapshot and pass it over to Solpar PM. If SOLPAR engineer can’t drive around in the clockwise or anticlockwise direction then he has to mention the reason against the same along with a snapshot proof. Also if for the stationary test, SOLPAR engineer is unable to go into the main lobe while still in car, then he must try to walk and go into major lobe of the sector, if even that is not possible then he should take snaps to support the same. The SOLPAR engineer should not wait more than 30 mins (post escalation to LSMR and self troubleshooting) for any issue resolution at the site. If issue resolution is taking time, then he should move to the next site.
  • 60. Post SCFT Drive All snapshots post SCFT (road and antenna obstructions) should be taken and sent to SOLPAR Project Manager/ Samsung Area Manager/Circle RF Lead. Backup of log files in memory card to be taken by the DT (this will required if any file got corrupted during upload). Same to be handed over to Circle RF Lead. Contact LSMR Engineer to lock the site (all three sectors). Handover the keys back to from where they were taken. Inform the Solpar PM and Samsung RF lead about completion of the drive test. Move over to the next site.

  • 154. Summary Work Order Assignment Management is also called as WAS. AM receives SCFT trigger once ATP11B process is completed. AM assigns SCFT Task to Samsung Optimizer & Samsung RF Head. AM distributes(assigns) “Perform SCFT” Task to SOLPAR PM. SOLPAR PM will further assign “Perform SCFT” task to SOLPAR FE(DT Engineer). SOLPAR FE has to accept this task from SOLPAR PM and follow below steps. a)SOLPAR FE will conduct SCFT task using Mobile device(eg:S4 Mini) to complete and upload test data to FMS server(separate process) b)SOLPAR FE will input parameter changes(if any) to siteforge server and submits it for Samsung Optimizer approval. Samsung Optimizer will accept or reject according SCFT test data available in FMS server and flow continues. Overall WAS Improves productivity & complete visibility.
