It follows a cycle of planning an improvement, implementing it, observing effects, and reflecting to inform future practice. Action research empowers teachers, develops context-specific solutions, and sustains improvements by making tacit knowledge explicit and shared. It justifies practices through evidence of impact on student learning rather than intuition alone.
The document provides information about the human digestive system. It includes objectives to define the digestive system, identify its organs, describe their functions, explain digestive processes, and formulate healthful practices. It outlines content and performance standards related to the digestive system and diseases. The learning resources include activity sheets and handouts. Various activities are described to engage students in learning about the digestive system through games, discussions, explanations of organ functions, and processes like ingestion and excretion. Students are asked to evaluate practices that could damage or help the digestive system and consider effects of missing digestive processes. They will conduct a community survey and formulate preventive health practices.
This document provides a lesson plan for teaching students about typhoons. The objectives are to explain how typhoons develop and are affected by landforms and bodies of water, understand why the Philippines is prone to typhoons, locate the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), classify different tropical cyclones, and identify precautionary measures during typhoons. The lesson plan outlines preliminary activities, a video to engage students, an individual activity to plot the PAR on a map, explanations of key concepts, and a group activity to demonstrate precautionary measures through song, role play and infographics. Students will be evaluated based on their demonstration of understanding of typhoon impacts and precautionary measures.
This document lists and describes various hand tools and small equipment commonly used in cooking and food preparation. It includes tools for cutting, lifting, mixing, spreading, straining, grating, zesting, piping, and opening cans. Some of the key tools mentioned are ball cutters for cutting fruits into balls, offset spatulas for flipping foods, rubber spatulas for scraping, pie servers for lifting pie wedges, bench scrapers for cutting and scraping dough, and pastry bags and tips for decorating and shaping items like icing.
This document provides an overview of common cooking equipment used in commercial kitchens. It describes various types of rangetops like gas burners, electric coils, and induction cooktops. It also covers different oven styles such as conventional, convection, and microwave ovens. Additional equipment discussed includes broilers, grills, griddles, and deep fryers. The document also summarizes food processing tools and holding/storage appliances used in commercial kitchens.
This presentation provides tips for making effective presentations using awesome backgrounds to engage audiences and capture their attention. It discusses using backgrounds and features of Product A and Product B.
This document outlines learning activities about folksongs of the Lowlands of Luzon in the Philippines. It discusses listening to and researching folksongs from other East Asian countries like Korea, China, and Japan. Three common Philippine folksongs are mentioned: Magtanim ay Di Biro, Ili ili Tulog Anay, and Atin Cu Pung Sing Sing. Students will complete tasks comparing and classifying folksongs, discussing pictures of rural life, and preparing a group performance of two Philippine folksongs, Magtanim ay Di Biro and Atin Cu Pung Sing Sing, choosing a style like pop, rock, or RnB. Scoring rubrics are provided for the group performance assessment.

End-to-end pipeline agility - Berlin Buzzwords 2024Lars Albertsson
We describe how we achieve high change agility in data engineering by eliminating the fear of breaking downstream data pipelines through end-to-end pipeline testing, and by using schema metaprogramming to safely eliminate boilerplate involved in changes that affect whole pipelines.
A quick poll on agility in changing pipelines from end to end indicated a huge span in capabilities. For the question "How long time does it take for all downstream pipelines to be adapted to an upstream change," the median response was 6 months, but some respondents could do it in less than a day. When quantitative data engineering differences between the best and worst are measured, the span is often 100x-1000x, sometimes even more.
A long time ago, we suffered at Spotify from fear of changing pipelines due to not knowing what the impact might be downstream. We made plans for a technical solution to test pipelines end-to-end to mitigate that fear, but the effort failed for cultural reasons. We eventually solved this challenge, but in a different context. In this presentation we will describe how we test full pipelines effectively by manipulating workflow orchestration, which enables us to make changes in pipelines without fear of breaking downstream.
Making schema changes that affect many jobs also involves a lot of toil and boilerplate. Using schema-on-read mitigates some of it, but has drawbacks since it makes it more difficult to detect errors early. We will describe how we have rejected this tradeoff by applying schema metaprogramming, eliminating boilerplate but keeping the protection of static typing, thereby further improving agility to quickly modify data pipelines without fear.

short-term and long-term effects.
Short-term effects last for a couple of

while long-term effects can be felt for
weeks, months, and even for a lifetime.
The following is an overview of the short-
term and long-term effects of substance
use and abuse.

legal with restrictions. People below 18
years of age are not allowed to buy
and use gateway drugs in the
Philippines.The use of these drugs
puts a person at risk of using more
dangerous and illicit drugs.

25. • Cigarettes and alcohol are “gateway
drugs”. Gateway drugs are legal
drugs that are readily accessible.
People who abuse more dangerous
drugs such as marijuana and shabu
often start from cigarette smoking
and drinking alcohol.

readily available and generally
accepted in our society, many people
use them for various purposes.
Teenagers are especially vulnerable
because they are curious and risk-
takers.

32. • It is a practice in which a substance is
burned and the resulting smoke
breathed in to be tasted and absorbed
into the bloodstream. Most commonly
the substance is the dried leaves of
the tobacco plant which have been
rolled into a small square of rice paper
to create a small, round cylinder called
a "cigarette".
33. • It is a tall, leafy plant, originally grown
in South and Central America, but now
