 The head of government is also the head of state.
 Leader of executive branch that is separate from
legislative branch.
 Sovereignty lies with the people.
 Election of their leader(president) may be direct or
indirect and he holds the office for a fixed tenure.

3. •Generally there is no Prime Minister and if one exists,
he/she serves purely at the pleasure of the president.
•President is always politically active.
•Vote of confidence can’t trigger the election procedure.
•President can direct members of the cabinet, military,
or any officer or employee of the executive branch, but
cannot direct or dismiss judges.
•Can pardon or commute sentences of convicted
criminals.
