2. What technique and availability is
involved in tinikling dance?
⢠In terms of technique, the performers
dance to the rhythm of music used by
passing through rapidly moving sticks
made from bamboo. Furthermore, the
performers while dancing hold their
hands behind their back. In addition, as
the tempo of the music increases the
pace of the body movements becomes
rapid. As for training centers/schools,
training for this unique âfolkâ dance is
provided in schools all across United
States of America
3. Here is the one example of one technique
that is INVOLVED in Tinikling dance
⢠The dance involves at least two
people beating, tapping, and sliding
bamboo poles on the ground and
against each other in coordination
with one or more dancers who step
over and in between the poles in a
dance
⢠Tinikling is the only bamboo dance
that has Spanish influence. The
locomotor movements used in this
dance are hopping, jumping, and
turning.
4. How do we use bamboo poles?
â˘We use it where workers of a
plantation who disobeyed
orders or worked too slow
were made to stand in
between two bamboo poles.
The poles would then clapped
together to beat the feet of
the workers. They must jump
to avoid the bamboo poles
5. Bamboo poles!
⢠2 Poles per set
⢠Two pieces of wood (a 24 should do)
should be placed between each set of
poles so that clickers can tap the poles
without risking injury to their hands
⢠ideally 9 to 12 feet in length to
accommodate dancers For this, PVC
pipes work well
⢠Two or four parallel pairs of bamboo
poles, each around 6 to 12 ft (1.8 to
3.7 m) long
⢠The color of this bamboo poles is vage.
6. Music involved in the tinikling dance
⢠This dance is said to be
traditionally performed
to âRondallaâ music and
involves two people
tapping and moving
bamboo poles on the
ground and against each
other with the dancers
hopping and dancing in
the blocks thus formed
by the bamboo poles.
7. Tinikling dance tips!!!
⢠Hop on your right foot.
⢠Hop another time on the right foot. Perform these
steps between both poles:
⢠Step on the left foot.
⢠Step on the right foot. ...
⢠Hop on the left foot outside the poles.
⢠Hop again on the left foot outside both poles. ...
⢠Step on your right foot.
⢠Step on your left foot
⢠On the third beat, the foot that is up remains up.
For instance, as the dancer exits the poles on the
RLR in the basic step, the left foot is up. They will
be behind a beat when they cross back to the
other side of the poles if they put that foot down
again
