PLOT
The plot of my short film is
LOCATION AND PROPS
• Interior location
• I will be using my school's assembly platform which will be
transformed into a dark conference/meeting room.
• A green room (to shoot the establishing shot).
• A long table
• Two chairs (one at the end of each table).
• Two lights (lit above the heads of both actors seated at the table).
• A black table cloth (to cover up the table).
• Black curtains
ACTORS AND THEIR
ROLES
• Me :- I will be playing the role of the moderate muslim who
challenges the concept of Islamic extremism using references from
the ethics and teaches of the Holy Qur'an.
• My cousin/a man :- My cousin will be playing the role of an Islamic
extremist who based on his anger because of the killings of
muslims in the middle east, misinterprets some teachings and
ethics of the Qur'an.
• A man/my dad :- my dad will be playing the role of the omniscient
narrator who speaks at the beginning and at the end of the short
film but isn't seen.
ESTABLISHING SHOT
I have decided to use an establishing shot of a man with his
eyes closed and facial expressions of pain and anger. Whilst
his eyes are closed, in the background images of dead
women, children and men In the Middle east will be shown
(hence the pain and anger in his expression). The man will
then open up his eyes and find himself in a dark meeting room
with a muslim woman sitting at the other end of the table.
SOUND
• My short film will mainly use diegetic sounds such as the dialogue
between both actors and the off-voice of the omniscient narrator
who is heard by both the actors and the audience.
• The only form of non-diegetic sound that I will use will be
soundtracks at the beginning when presenting the title credits.
CAMERA ANGLES/SHOTS
• Wide shot :- to present a clear view of the length of the table when
the actors are seated at each end.
• Close up :- to reveal body languages and actions each actor
expresses.
• Extreme close-up :-to reveal detailed facial expressions.
