HD Camera Upgrades Captures Music Video Footage
1. HD Camera
• Unlike last year, this year we ungraded our camera to high definition. This did not change
much, except for the quality of the footage, and the Final Cut Express setting used to edit. We
used the camera to film our preliminary task, music video footage, and focus groups for
target audience research and audience feedback.
2. Camera/Phone
Camera
• We used a still digital camera and a phone
camera to take pictures of us working, and to
show any written or drawn work we completed,
such as spider diagrams and our storyboard. We
also used it to take pictures for our digipak and
magazine advert. It was easier to use our phone
camera’s as they were more accessible and
something which at least one of us had with us
at all time. This served exactly the same purpose
as a still digital camera.
3. Final Cut Express
• Final Cut Express was used for the preliminary task, animatic, and actual music video editing.
We had used this last year, although for our music video, we had twice as much footage to
capture and edit, if not more. We also used more than one layer this year, having split
screens and different angles of the band which we could switch between easily having them
on different layers, rather than the ‘in’ and ‘out’ method we have previously used.
