4. The great Revolt of 1857 is one of the striking
events in the whole History of Indian’s freedom
struggle. It was an expression of the resentment of
Indian people against the foreign rule inn India .
Before the out break of 1857 revolt, the resentment
of Indian people had found expression in a number of
mutinies and insurrections from time to time in
different parts of the country.

was described as a struggle between oriental and
occidental culture and civilization. It was an
expression of the resenment of Indian people against
the foreign rule in India
