Paraplegia is a condition where the lower body is paralyzed due to spinal cord injury or conditions like spina bifida. Aphasia is a speech disorder where a person has difficulty speaking, reading, or writing due to lesions in the brain lobes that control language. Both conditions affect the central nervous system and require specialized rehabilitation to help patients regain independence and language skills.

 Paralysis of the lower portion of the body and
both legs.
 Paraplegia is primarily caused by either an
injury to the spinal cord or a congenital
condition. Spina bifida is an example of a
congenital condition.

of the brain.
 Aphasia can also be caused by Herpes
Simplex virus encephalitis which effects
the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain.

have aphasia treatment is specialized in a
case by case situation. The doctor works
together with a speech-language
pathologist, an occupational therapist and
social worker to help the patient with
memorization of language and developing
language skills.
