  • 14. A vision of k-12 students today I don’t believe that this video would be of much use if shown to children as it would not challenge them in any way, nor provoke learning. This video would be useful however when used to challenge the older generations into acknowledging that the world is changing and the techniques that worked so well in the past, may not work again in the future. It is relevant to student lives as it has facts about the average student and is aiming to promote a better education for the future workforce.
  • 15. What I have learnt I believe that forbidden would be of more use in a classroom situation and could be harnessed effectively to raise points for discussion that are relevant to the syllabus such as different people in the community and the morals and independence of the elderly. This film could be watched before a class discussion as it is very effective at creating emotion and a connection with the viewer.
  • 16. What I have learnt The second artefact was not as captivating as forbidden was in my opinion, it did not show me any new information and was not surprising at all. I do believe, however, that if shown to the correct audience that this could be very effective in changes peoples ideas or perceptions on what can be harnessed for learning purposes.

Editor's Notes

  1. The artefacts that were given for analysing were forbidden a shortfilm from the tropfest movie competition it is well directed and well shot. And a vision of kinder to year 12 students of today. This is a youtube clip which is used to inspire teachers to engage their students through new technollogy and prepare them for the world of the future, where a knowledge of technology is priceless.
  2. Filmmaking in pdhpe, if used effectively, can help students achieve many of the key requirements of the syllabus. Including the ability to communicate effectively, have competence and confidence in a range of contexts and devise and implement plans to achieve goals. Filmmaking also gives students a felling of independence as it is their own project and they are required to be creative and organised.
  3. It effectively shows a view from all three perspectives throughout the short film which gives the viewer enough information to have their own interpretation about what to think. It uses engaging music and poses questions to the viewer to draw them In and provoke a response.
  4. Forbidden is very effective at making all the characters seem under duress and it makes the viewer feel very empathetic towards their siruation, it shows all relationships well, from the impressionable child to the stressed mother and then the aging grandmother. It makes the viewer feel what the director Is trying to convey through effective camera angles such as showing the girl copying the mother when playing with her doll, or showing the grandmother helpless on the toilet while the little girl watches her mothers reaction.A vision ….. Did not engage me as a viewer as much as forbidden did as its chocie of no dialogue puts the emphasis that is placed on the facts and the cards the students hold completely up to how the viewer reads it in their head. This of course will vary from person to person. And cause different reactions. It directly asks the viewer questions and uses a variety of children from different age, sthnicity and gender groups
  5. Talk about when granny starts to walk around she is very cautious and switched on.
