By doing Similar Text Analysis as part of my research I was able to learn
the basic components that go into all film trailers. By then looking
specifically at teen, trailers I was able to see what I would need to include
in my own trailer so that it would look realistic.
In the codes and conventions section I made 3 mind maps; one for all film
trailers, one for teen trailer, and one for teen thrillers. By researching these I
was able to see the essentials I will need to include in my trailer. By looking at
teen thrillers I was helped in coming up with ideas for my own trailer that would
specifically suit the genre I have chosen.
By doing target audience research, my group was helped in making important
decisions about our storyline. I analyzed three of the questions we asked in the
multiple choice questionnaire, and this allowed us to decide what course of
action we wanted to take in the narrative of the trailer. We also learnt what
people would be looking for in teen thrillers so we learnt what we would need to
include in our trailers to fulfill our viewer’s wishes.
In subject matter

and makeup. So I
learnt what the
characters would
need to wear in order
to make the trailer
convincing, and I
looked at the film,
‘Another Me,’ and
found the protagonist
very interesting and
found that she’s the
sort of character my
group and I would
like to include in our
trailer.
Technical skills allowed me to get equipped with the equipment I will be using
when filming and when editing and when presenting coursework. I looked at all
the items, as we did not split them up in our group, so this way we all learnt about
all the equipment, rather than all of us having different levels of knowledge about
different pieces of equipment.
