This document discusses the need for reforms to representative democracy to address challenges from globalization, technology, and other megatrends. It argues that while democracy may not be in crisis, improvements are needed. Democracy must serve the people and regain their value and trust in it. Finland in particular may need changes to remain a poster child of democracy, such as addressing wealth distribution, prioritizing lifelong learning, and reforming how political parties and decision-making works to be more open, civic-focused, and long-term in its perspective.
