GROUP ASSIGNMENT
“PETRONAS”
 Petroliam Nasional Berhad is short of
PETRONAS (National Petroleum Limited), it is
a Malaysian oil and gas company. Petronas
was founded on 17 August 1974 which is 44
years ago.
 Petronasis a Government-linked investment
company
 Petronas has grown to be an integrated
international oil and gas company in 35
countries with business interest.
 Leadership
the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting
Countries (Opec), in its Monthly Oil Market
Report for May, says, “The contango structure
of the forward curves of all crude futures
benchmarks steepened further in April on
further worsening of global oil market
fundamentals and a rapid rise in global oil
stocks
 Structure Organization
Matrix Organization structure is the typically
hierarchical arrangement of lines of authority,
communications, rights and duties of an
organization. Organizational structure
determines how the roles, power and
responsibilities are assigned, controlled, and
coordinated, and how information flows
between the different levels of management. A
structure depends on the organization's
objectives and strategy.
 Motivation worker
PETRONAS guiding principles of attracting and
recruiting individuals based on merit, where
only the most suitably qualified and competent
individuals are selected for hire. We provide
equal opportunity employment for all qualified
candidates who meet the minimum entry
requirement. They seek to bring on board a
diverse workforce for the value that different
opinions and perspectives broadening our
viewpoints and enhancing our decision making.
 In terms of leadership, Petronas must supervise every
employee and representative from all departments.
This also ensures that the management of the
organization is more manageable and tidy. To get a
stable and neat system leadership plays an important
role. One of the things we can use is that Petronas
needs to provide a special course for all department
leaders especially and a course for all employees to
give them a more open and intelligent mindset in
terms of controlling the department.
 Petronas needs to better supervise the existing
system. In addition, if there is a need for better
additions to the organizational structure, they can
discuss with the superiors to submit improvement
proposals for the company.
 Petronas superiors need to give more
attention to their employees. The superiors
also need to think about the subordinates so
that those under them always get attention
from the superiors.
 Hire the right people
Wrong hires have a big impact on a company’s productivity
and costs. They usually perform lower than others, and
managing an underperforming employee takes 70% more
time than managing a high performing one
 Communicate
Bad management often stems from poor communication. If
you experience problems with your team, it may well be that
your communication skills need some honing.
 Listen actively and ask questions
Listening to your staff, trying to understand their
perspectives and concerns shows them they’re appreciated
and is a good practice to do
 In conclusion, Petronas is one of Malaysia's pride,
it is one of the companies that has a name
around the world in terms of the oil industry. If
this company wants to continue its name on the
world stage, then they need to have perfect
management and be comparable to other
companies. They also need to keep an eye on
their employees regardless of whether they start
from the office workers who are in the office to
the workers who work in the middle of the sea
"Offshore". This is to ensure that their employees
are always supervised and given attention so that
they are more enthusiastic to work.

  • 6.  In terms of leadership, Petronas must supervise every employee and representative from all departments. This also ensures that the management of the organization is more manageable and tidy. To get a stable and neat system leadership plays an important role. One of the things we can use is that Petronas needs to provide a special course for all department leaders especially and a course for all employees to give them a more open and intelligent mindset in terms of controlling the department.  Petronas needs to better supervise the existing system. In addition, if there is a need for better additions to the organizational structure, they can discuss with the superiors to submit improvement proposals for the company.
