SYNCHRONIZATION :
NECESSARY CONDITIONS :
SYNCHRONIZATION PANEL :
METHODS OF SYNCHRONIZATION :
1) LAMP METHOD ( 2 BRIGHT 1 DARK)
• LAMP LI – B&B
• LAMP L2 – B&R
• LAMP L3 – R&B
DEMERITS OF LAMP METHOD :
• Require skilled operator.
• Can’t judge, generator is running slow or fast.
• For high voltage generators, extra device required i.e. Step
down transformer because, lamps are of low rating
2) SYNCHROSCOPE METHOD
ADVANTAGES :
• Continuity of supply,
• Economical
• Additional sets can be connected to meet increasing demand
without disturbing original installation
• Give maximum efficiency i.e. In light load condition , excessive
generator can be shut down.
APPLICATION :
• Electrical machines lab of engineering college.
CONCLUSION :
• Synchronization panel supervise the system and tells the
correct instant to synchronize alternator to the grid, when all
the required conditions are met.
