A drama series is a continuous story
over different episode. There are lots
of different types of drama series in all
different types of genre for exam
friends is a famous comedy drama
series but also a more serious period
drama series would be Downton
Abbey.

6. Drama Serials are series of television
programs and radio programs that rely on a
continuing plot that unfolds in a sequential
episode-by-episode fashion. A good example
of this would be the last weekend this was a
realisme serial drama on itv about but also a
total contract to this would be Monroe this is
set in a hospital, but they are both drama
serials .

7. A single Drama is a signal program that is
not a continued story over a series but
just a single programme. This could be
any length for example it could be a short
film such as the last man on earth this is a
short film with a clear story. Or another
example would the drama ‘accused’ this
is a different story every week.

10. Linear is when something runs in order
for example beginning, middle, end. This
is a very common way of laying out a film
an example of this would be ‘Mr
snuggles’ this is a short film.

11. Non linear is where a film doesn't run in
order in order for example. You may see
the end of the film first then the
beginning then the middle then once
again the end. An example of a film like
this would be pulp fiction this is a good
example, But ! The beginning is not
exactly the same as the end as they
change the line a little bit.

12. Endings can be open and closed. A open
ended film is where you don’t know what
happened the soaps use this a lot
another world for this is a cliff hanger. A
closed ending is where you no the ending
and the audience know the ending an
example of this is Sweeney todd.

15. Camera and
Shots.
EWS (Extreme Wide Shot)
The view is so far from the subject that he isn't even visible. Often used as an establishing shot.
VWS (Very Wide Shot)
The subject is visible (barely), but the emphasis is still on placing him in his environment.
WS (Wide Shot)
The subject takes up the full frame, or at least as much as comfortably possible.
AKA: long shot, full shot.
MS (Mid Shot)
Shows some part of the subject in more detail while still giving an impression of the whole subject.
MCU (Medium Close Up)
Half way between a MS and a CU.
CU (Close Up)
A certain feature or part of the subject takes up the whole frame.
ECU (Extreme Close Up)
The ECU gets right in and shows extreme detail.

Cut-In
Shows some (other) part of the subject in detail.
CA (Cutaway)
A shot of something other than the subject.
Two-Shot
A shot of two people, framed similarly to a mid shot.
(OSS) Over-the-Shoulder Shot
Looking from behind a person at the subject.
Noddy Shot
Usually refers to a shot of the interviewer listening and reacting to the subject.
Point-of-View Shot (POV)
Shows a view from the subject's perspective.
Weather Shot
The subject is the weather. Can be used for other purposes, e.g. background for graphics.

16. You can have many different types of
lighting when making a film, you can have
natural lighting, or studio light where you
could have spot lights or you could have
large flood lights or you could have low
key lighting so dim lighting.

17. You can have two different types of
sound these are a diegetic sound this is
sound of the film clip that the actors can
also hear. And Non diegetic is where
music or sound effects are added in over
the top and the actors can not hear this.
