2. Biography
Quentin Jerome Tarantino is best known for his
unpredictable, violent films, earning widespread fame for
his more well-known creations such as ‘Pulp Fiction’.
During his youth, his love of movies led him to obtain a job
in a movie store, in which he wrote the script for both
‘Natural Born Killers’ and ‘True Romance’.
Although know for having a short temper, his work over
the years have impressed critics and launched his name to
the top as a mature – film creator, which many believe he
specializes in.
“I don't believe in elitism. I don't think the audience is
this dumb person lower than me. I am the audience.”

5. Influence
An award ceremony in the Critics Choice Awards
celebrated Tarantino, celebrating his start in filmmaking
when he was in his twenties. Tarantino has stated that
music is an important part of his filmmaking style, and
that he would listen to music in his bedroom and create
scenes which correlated to the music that was being
played.
Tarantino has explained that the much-celebrated,
animation-action sequence in Kill Bill, the influence from
them scenes came from the use of 2D animation in the
film ‘Aalavandhan’

6. Controversies
Tarantino often uses graphic violence that has proven
seductive to audiences, and he has been harshly
criticized for his use of gore and blood in an entrancing
yet simultaneously repulsive way. His films have been
staunchly criticized and scorned for their use of
violence, blood and action as a "color" within cinema,
and rebuked for allegedly using human suffering as a
punch line.
However, Tarantino has also spoken hat he does not
believe that violence in movies inspires acts of violence
in real life.

8. Narrative (Kill Bill: Vol 1)
The story begins with a chapel setting, with a bride lying
wounded after being attacked by the Dead Viper
Assassination Squad. She tells the leader, Bill, that she
is carrying his baby, to which he shoots her.
It then cuts to the four years later, with the Bride
tracking down and killing Vernita Green (Copperhead), a
former member of the DVAS, with her daughter to
witness her death.

9. Narrative cont. (Kill Bill: Vol 1)
The story the cuts back again to the Bride just after the
chapel massacre. She is in a hospital bed, suffering
from a coma (Which will last for 4 years). Bill stops one
of his employees from assassinating her, stating that it
is unfair to kill her while she cannot defend herself.
She awakens from her coma, to which she murders a
hospital staff member who has been sexually assaulting
her while she has been under. After teaching herself
how to walk, she obtains a sword from Hattori to
continue hunting down the members of the DVAS.

10. Narrative cont. (Kill Bill: Vol 1)
She tracks down O-Ren, her first target, to a Tokyo
restaurant. She overcomes all of her personal
bodyguards, which leads to a showdown between her
and O-Ren in a Japanese-style tea garden.
After defeating her, the Bride starts to track down her
next victim. The next scene shows the point of view
from Bill, to which he tells his personal bodyguard if she
s aware that her child is still alive.
The story is left on the this scene, with Vol. 2 being a
direct sequel.
