6. Personal Life
Khan married thrice, out of which two ended with a divorce.
Jemima Goldsmith: He first married Jemima Goldsmith (who converted to Islam) from England’s
billionaire Goldsmith family in 1995, who bore him two sons -- Sulaiman Khan and
Qasim Khan. They divorced in 2004. (nine years)
Reham Khan: Eleven years later he married a local news anchor Reham Khan in a union which
could only last ten months.
Bushra Manika: Khan has tilted towards Sufism in recent years, with frequent visits to shrines and
faith healers to seek blessings for his political journey. This led him to marry faith
healer Bushra Manika on 18 February 2018.
Khan’s supporters see in him a messiah, who will steer the country out of simmering
predicaments by sheer determination and goodwill.
7. Philanthropic work
After retirement from cricket in 1992, he changed his lifestyle for philanthropy.
Khan set out on a journey to collect donations to establish the country's first
state-of-the-art cancer hospital -- named after his mother Shaukat Khanum who
had died of cancer in Lahore.
Besides this, he built colleges, universities, and spearheaded many charity
campaigns in the country.
His successful mission earned him huge love and respect among Pakistanis.
8. Political Journey…
1996: Founded PTI
1997: Ran for National Assembly of Pakistan in General Elections. Elections
from two constituencies- NA-53 Mianwali, NA-94, Lahore. He lost both.
1999: Supported General Parvez Musharraf's military coup
2002: Elected to National Assembly of Pakistan from Mianwali in General
Pakistani elections.
2007: On October 2, joined 85 other MPs to resign from Parliament in protest
of the presidential elections scheduled for 6 October.
2013: on April 30, Manzoor Wattoo president of Pakistan Peoples Party
(Punjab) the parliamentary leader of his party.

2014: On 11th May, he alleged that the 2013 General Elections were
rigged in favour of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League
20218: Contested the 2018 General Elections from NA-95 Mianwali and
NA-53 Islamabad and won both.
10. Election Campaign
During his election campaign, he made tall claims and lofty promises to Pakistanis
Khan guaranteed he that would prefer death than another loan from IMF or World
Bank
He promised 10 million jobs for the lower class of Pakistan. He promised to bring all
the looted money back to Pakistan.
He assured to share a huge slice of the budget for education and health.
He sworn justice, independent media, and strict accountability
He made a total of 49 promises in his election manifesto.
