Amidst all this, Pakistan wants India to "solve the Kashmir Issue", without addressing the core question - who drove away, threatened, killed the original residents of Kashmir the Kashmiri Pandits from Kashmir? Where are they now? Who controls their property in Kashmir? Why are the Muslim majority in Kashmir increasingly demanding freedom from India when it has always been part of India... These are vital questions that needs answeres... and then there are practical reasons too, why Kashmir must stay with India

Saritsa Foundation Educates Most Vulnerable School Children of Jammu and Kashmir to Protect Lives in Earthquakes and Other Disasters – 18 April to 24 April 2013.
We have developed a deeper passion over a period of time to empower school children and teachers to protect lives in earthquakes, especially, in HINDUKUSH Mountain Regions in India and Pakistan who suffer without education. Humanizing the suffering of children in loosing lives, becoming disabled and facing life long traumas is heart rendering concern for Saritsa Foundation. Jammu and Kashmir is situated in an earthquake sensitive region and massive tremors in the past have wreaked havoc here. Moderate intensity earthquakes keep on threatening school children and the community often in Jammu and Kashmir. The Earthquake of 8 October 2005 which struck heavily in the northern area of Jammu and Kashmir destroyed among other buildings the infrastructure of School Education Department in a big way.
As per the estimates of the Department concerned as many as 404 school buildings were fully damaged and partial damage was reported in case of 442 other school buildings in Kashmir Division. The destruction of school buildings rendered the schools non-functional, particularity where the buildings suffered heavy damages and the school management was also reluctant to continue schooling in relatively low damaged buildings on account of an element of risk. The impact is fresh in minds of local people. The areas that lies close to the Line of Control (LOC) were the epicenter of the earthquake. The worst affected areas were Tangdhar, Keran and Karnah in Kupwara district and Uri in Baramulla district. The death count reached 755 with Baramulla and Kupawara alone accounting for 469 and 259 deaths. Twenty-six security personnel, including 21 Army jawans, were killed and scores of others injured as the massive earthquake damaged bunkers and barracks along the Line of Control in Baramulla, Kupwara and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

3. History
According to folk etymology, the name "Kashmir"
means"desiccated land" (from the Sanskrit: Ka =
water and shimeera = desiccate).
In Rajatarangini, it is stated that the valley of
Kashmir was formerly a lake.
When Kashmir had been drained, Kashyapa
asked Brahmans to settle there. This is still the
local tradition, and in the existing physical
condition of the country, we may see some
ground for the story which has taken this form.
4. Religions in
Kashmir
Islam:
World religion founded by the
Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be
upon Him). Founded in the 7th
century, Islam is the youngest
of the three monotheistic
world religions (with Judaism
and Christianity). An adherent
to Islam is a Muslim…
5. Hinduism:
The religious practices of Hindus of Kashmir
(popularly known as Kashmiri Pandits) revolve
around the worship of Shiva and Shakti. All other
deities (gods and goddesses) of the traditional
Hindu pantheon are worshipped as various
manifestations of Shiva and Shakti.
6. Buddhism:
Buddhist population is mainly found in the Ladakh
region of Kashmir, where it predominates. In the
main Kashmir valley, however, Buddhists are
present in a negligible numbers.
7. Language of
Kashmir
Kashmiri (कॉशुर , کأ شرKoshur) is a language from
ُ
the Dardic sub-group and it is spoken primarily
in the Kashmir Valley, in Jammu and
Kashmir. There are approximately 5,554,496
speakers in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Kashmiri language is one of the 22
scheduled languages of India, and is a part of
the Sixth Schedule in the constitution of the
Jammu and Kashmir.
8. Some Common Words of
Kashmiri with English
Translation :-
Come Pakh
Came Aav
I Bu
He Su
Sit Beh
What Kya
14. Music of
Kashmir
Kashmiri music (Urdu: جموں اور کشمیر کے
)سنگیتreflects the rich musical heritage and
cultural legacy of the Jammu &
Kashmir region in India. Traditionally the
music composed by ethnic Kashmir's has a
wide range of musical influences in
composition.
17. Dance of Kashmir
Jammu and Kashmir has few of the most
captivating forms of performing arts in India that
has captured the imaginations of one and all.
These dances have become a non detachable part
of this state's culture and are performed at almost
all festivals and celebrations. There are special
dances for almost all occasions like birth
celebrations, wedding ceremonies, crop
harvesting.
20. Conclusion
At last, on the basis of the data that I have collected from
the eminent scholars and the secondary sources. I came to
conclusion the Kashmir is one of the major tourist
attraction centre of the world. The traditional techniques
of making the handcrafts are known to the world know
which make Kashmir a tourist centre. The combination of
people of 3 religions living in the valley in peace and
harmony is the symbol of national integrity and unity. The
cuisines of Kashmir add taste to the life. Tourists are more
attracted to such a delicious food. Music and dance though
not got so much importance but life in the valley is
incomplete without it.
