RAJATHAN
•Rajasthan is a state in northern India.
The state covers an area of 342,239
square kilometers (132,139 sq. mi) or 10.4
percent of the total geographical area of
India. It is the largest Indian state by
area and the seventh largest by
population.
ASSAM
•Assam is a state in northeastern India,
situated south of eastern Himalayas along
the Brahmaputra and Barak river valleys.
Assam covers an area of 78,438 km2 .It is
also one of the world’s most populous
subdivisions . Assamese is the official
language of Assam
FOOD
RAJASTHAN
Rajasthan, is famous for its cuisine. Its cuisine
was dependent on lifestyles of its inhabitants
and the availability of ingredients in this arid
region. Food that could last for several days
and could be eaten without heating was
preferred.

ASSAM
Assamese cuisine is the cuisine of Assam.
It is a style of cooking that is a confluence
of cooking habits of the hills that
favor fermentation and drying as forms of
preservation and those from the plains that
provide fresh vegetables and an abundance
of fish and meat.

FESTIVALS
RAJASTHAN
 There are many festivals celebrated in Rajasthan-:
Teej-it is one of the most important festivals in
rajasthan.it is celebrated with absolute grandeur,
traditional songs & dance, fair, and worship of
Goddess Teej.
Gangaur-it is celebrated with huge fanfare in
Rajasthan by women. Processions of a decked-up
Goddess Gauri are carried all over the city .
 Makara Sankranti- it is a festival day in the hindu
calender dedicated to the deity suria (sun). It is
observed each year in the lunar month of January.
ASSAM
There are many festivals celebrated in Assam-:
Bihu festival-Bihu is the most important festival of
Assam. It is celebrated with joy and abundance by all
Assamese people.
Dehing Patkai Tea Festival-This Festival is a once-a-
year festival held at lekhpani in Tinsukia district of
Assam.It is organized by the Government of assam
providing the tourists with boundless chances for fun
and feast.
 Ambubachi Mela-it is the most famous one which is
held in the Kamakhya Mandir of Guwahati. This fair
has got a special significance as per the Hindu beliefs
and traditions.
COSTUMES & JEWELLERY
RAJASTHAN
Traditionally men in Rajasthan wear dhotis,
kurta, angarkha, and paggar or safa (kind of
turban headgear). Traditional Chudidar
payjama (puckered trousers).
Women wear ghagra (long skirt) and kanchli
(top).however, dress style changes with lengths
and breaths and breaths of vast Rajasthan.
Some jewellery of Rajasthan are-:
Rakhdi/Sheeshfool/Borla
Nath
Surliya/Kaanbali and Jhaale
Aad or Kanthi Necklace
Bajubandh
Bangadi
ASSAM
The Assamese adorn very simple dresses, and
mostly hand loomed.
The women wear motif-rich Mekhela Chador or
Riha- Mekhela. The men wear 'suria' or 'dhoti',
and over it, they drape a chadar known as
'Seleng’.
 Assamese men wear the dhoti-gamosa which is
their traditional dress.

RAJASTHAN
Rajasthan's architecture is chiefly based on
Rajput school of architecture which was an
assortment of the Mughal and the Hindu
structural plan.
 Some of the famous formations that
symbolize the architectural legacy
of Rajasthan are-:
 Dilwara Temples
 Chittorgarh Fort
 Jal Mahal
City Palace
Jaisalmer Havelis
ASSAM
Assam-type architecture is a style developed
in the state of Assam in India during the late
modern period. It is found in Assam and
Sylhet region. The houses constructed using
this style are generally termed as Assam-type
houses, consisting usually one or more
storeys.
Some of the famous formations that
symbolize the architectural legacy
of Assam are-:
Rang Ghar.
Kareng Ghar.
Charaideo.
Talatal ghar.
ART FORMS-(Dance/Music)
RAJASTHAN
Ghoomar Dance-it is a traditional folk dance
of Rajasthan and a State Dance of Rajasthan.
Gair-it is one of the popular, famous and folk
dance which is performed by the Bhil
community in rajasthan.
Maand- it is one of the most
popular music styles in Rajasthan.
This music form is known for the classical
touch of different ragas in India.
ASSAM
Bihu- is the most popular folk dance of
Assam. Bihu dances are performed by young
boys and girls during the Bihu festival.
Satriya Nritya-is the classical dance form of
Assam which represents the Satriya culture,
the basis of the religious and cultural fabric
of Assam.
The indigenous music of Assam includes
Bihu songs, Bodo, Karbi and Mising songs
that are all structured and sung to the
Pentatonic scale quite similar to the
traditional music of China
CULTURE-(Customs/Rituals)
RAJASTHAN
• The Customs and traditions of
Rajasthan are the Rajasthani version of
these Vedic rites and rituals. The
Rajasthani people have religiously
followed the dictum of the Vedas at
every stage from birth till death. They
have added some regional rites and
rituals to these Vedic ceremonies.
According to the Vedas every man has
to perform certain ceremonies, known
as Samskaras, from birth to death.
ASSAM
The weddings, birth, death and
festivals in Assam include many
customs that are supposed to be
followed by all. For instance, the
Assamese use bamboo to welcome
guests because of their attachment to
the bamboo culture. Known as Jaapi,
this is basically known as the sunshade
of Assam.
CLIMATE-(Flora and Fauna)
RAJASTHAN
Rajasthan has a rich variety of flora and
fauna. The natural vegetation is classed
as Northern Desert Thorny Forest.
These occur in small clumps scattered
in a more or less open form. The most
prolific vegetation seen in this state is
Kejri or prosopis cineraria.
ASSAM
Assam has a rich variety of flora and
fauna. Endemic flora are plants which
occur in a restricted area. Altogether
165 species of plants have been
recorded in assam.which are restricted
in distribution to certain pockets
in Assam, though some of them show
extended destruction in the N.E.
Region and elsewhere in India.

  • 3. RAJATHAN •Rajasthan is a state in northern India. The state covers an area of 342,239 square kilometers (132,139 sq. mi) or 10.4 percent of the total geographical area of India. It is the largest Indian state by area and the seventh largest by population.
  • 4. ASSAM •Assam is a state in northeastern India, situated south of eastern Himalayas along the Brahmaputra and Barak river valleys. Assam covers an area of 78,438 km2 .It is also one of the world’s most populous subdivisions . Assamese is the official language of Assam
  • 5. FOOD RAJASTHAN Rajasthan, is famous for its cuisine. Its cuisine was dependent on lifestyles of its inhabitants and the availability of ingredients in this arid region. Food that could last for several days and could be eaten without heating was preferred. Dal bati churma Mohan thal Gatte ki sabji Mirchi vada Papad ki sabji ASSAM Assamese cuisine is the cuisine of Assam. FESTIVALS RAJASTHAN  There are many festivals celebrated in Rajasthan-: Teej-it is one of the most important festivals in rajasthan.it is celebrated with absolute grandeur, traditional songs & dance, fair, and worship of Goddess Teej. Gangaur-it is celebrated with huge fanfare in Rajasthan by women. Processions of a decked-up Goddess Gauri are carried all over the city .  Makara Sankranti- it is a festival day in the hindu calender dedicated to the deity suria (sun). It is observed each year in the lunar month of January. ASSAM There are many festivals celebrated in Assam-: Bihu festival-Bihu is the most important festival of Assam. It is celebrated with joy and abundance by all Assamese people. Dehing Patkai Tea Festival-This Festival is a once-a- year festival held at lekhpani in Tinsukia district of Assam.It is organized by the Government of assam providing the tourists with boundless chances for fun and feast.  Ambubachi Mela-it is the most famous one which is held in the Kamakhya Mandir of Guwahati. This fair has got a special significance as per the Hindu beliefs and traditions.
  • 7. COSTUMES & JEWELLERY RAJASTHAN Traditionally men in Rajasthan wear dhotis, kurta, angarkha, and paggar or safa (kind of turban headgear). Traditional Chudidar payjama (puckered trousers). Women wear ghagra (long skirt) and kanchli (top).however, dress style changes with lengths and breaths and breaths of vast Rajasthan. Some jewellery of Rajasthan are-: Rakhdi/Sheeshfool/Borla Nath Surliya/Kaanbali and Jhaale Aad or Kanthi Necklace Bajubandh Bangadi ASSAM The Assamese adorn very simple dresses, and mostly hand loomed. The women wear motif-rich Mekhela Chador or Riha- Mekhela. The men wear 'suria' or 'dhoti', and over it, they drape a chadar known as 'Seleng’.  Assamese men wear the dhoti-gamosa which is their traditional dress. Some jewellery of assam are-: Golpata Japi: Pepa Gam kharu Thuriya Kerumoni Dugdugi

ARCHITECTURE RAJASTHAN Rajasthan's architecture is chiefly based on Rajput school of architecture which was an assortment of the Mughal and the Hindu structural plan.  Some of the famous formations that symbolize the architectural legacy of Rajasthan are-:  Dilwara Temples  Chittorgarh Fort  Jal Mahal City Palace Jaisalmer Havelis ASSAM Assam-type architecture is a style developed in the state of Assam in India during the late modern period. It is found in Assam and Sylhet region. The houses constructed using this style are generally termed as Assam-type houses, consisting usually one or more storeys. Some of the famous formations that symbolize the architectural legacy of Assam are-: Rang Ghar. Kareng Ghar. Charaideo. Talatal ghar.

ART FORMS-(Dance/Music) RAJASTHAN Ghoomar Dance-it is a traditional folk dance of Rajasthan and a State Dance of Rajasthan. Gair-it is one of the popular, famous and folk dance which is performed by the Bhil community in rajasthan. Maand- it is one of the most popular music styles in Rajasthan. This music form is known for the classical touch of different ragas in India. ASSAM Bihu- is the most popular folk dance of Assam. Bihu dances are performed by young boys and girls during the Bihu festival. Satriya Nritya-is the classical dance form of Assam which represents the Satriya culture, the basis of the religious and cultural fabric of Assam. The indigenous music of Assam includes Bihu songs, Bodo, Karbi and Mising songs that are all structured and sung to the Pentatonic scale quite similar to the traditional music of China
  • 10. CULTURE-(Customs/Rituals) RAJASTHAN • The Customs and traditions of Rajasthan are the Rajasthani version of these Vedic rites and rituals. The Rajasthani people have religiously followed the dictum of the Vedas at every stage from birth till death. They have added some regional rites and rituals to these Vedic ceremonies. According to the Vedas every man has to perform certain ceremonies, known as Samskaras, from birth to death. ASSAM The weddings, birth, death and festivals in Assam include many customs that are supposed to be followed by all. For instance, the Assamese use bamboo to welcome guests because of their attachment to the bamboo culture. Known as Jaapi, this is basically known as the sunshade of Assam.
  • 11. CLIMATE-(Flora and Fauna) RAJASTHAN Rajasthan has a rich variety of flora and fauna. The natural vegetation is classed as Northern Desert Thorny Forest. These occur in small clumps scattered in a more or less open form. The most prolific vegetation seen in this state is Kejri or prosopis cineraria. ASSAM Assam has a rich variety of flora and fauna. Endemic flora are plants which occur in a restricted area. Altogether 165 species of plants have been recorded in assam.which are restricted in distribution to certain pockets in Assam, though some of them show extended destruction in the N.E. Region and elsewhere in India.
