3. History
According to folk etymology, the name "Kashmir"
means"desiccated land" (from the Sanskrit: Ka =
water and shimeera = desiccate).
In Rajatarangini, it is stated that the valley of
Kashmir was formerly a lake.
When Kashmir had been drained, Kashyapa
asked Brahmans to settle there. This is still the
local tradition, and in the existing physical
condition of the country, we may see some
ground for the story which has taken this form.

Kashmir
Islam:
World religion founded by the
Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be
upon Him). Founded in the 7th
century, Islam is the youngest

and Christianity). An adherent
to Islam is a Muslim…

The religious practices of Hindus of Kashmir
(popularly known as Kashmiri Pandits) revolve
around the worship of Shiva and Shakti. All other
deities (gods and goddesses) of the traditional

20. Conclusion
At last, on the basis of the data that I have collected from
the eminent scholars and the secondary sources. I came to
conclusion the Kashmir is one of the major tourist
attraction centre of the world. The traditional techniques
of making the handcrafts are known to the world know
which make Kashmir a tourist centre. The combination of
people of 3 religions living in the valley in peace and
harmony is the symbol of national integrity and unity. The
cuisines of Kashmir add taste to the life. Tourists are more
attracted to such a delicious food. Music and dance though
not got so much importance but life in the valley is
incomplete without it.
