The next slides will contain information that overlap or can be used in more than one subject that this class has discussed. This is just a reminder: both natural (biological) influences and environmental influences play role in the formational and behavioral aspects of humans.

Language & Culture
FluencyThe way humans are designed is beneficial, in terms of speech and fluency. There are two main areas in the left side of the brain that control the speech:Wernice’s – responsible for the comprehension of speechBroca’s – responsible for the production of speechOther things contribute to our fluency in any language:TeethTongueLarynx Mouth
BehaviorismOur behavior now is mostly shaped by our culture and environment.Humans’ behavior becomes repetitive within their culture or environment because that’s what is normally agreed upon.Any person who tries to engage in an abnormal behavior will be viewed as a strange case or may not be accepted by others in the society.
ShakespeareShakespeare’s literary work can be interpreted differently across the world depending upon two main factors:Language – the language that the literary work was being translated intoCulture – the cultural beliefs or aspects of a certain society that control the minds of the people who lived in it.It could be argued that literacy is an important determinant of how people interpret things.
Common SenseAs understood, common sense is what we believe is right or, in other words, what we think, according to our cultural beliefs, is right.Common sense can differ from one country to another due to the difference in cultures around the world. There are some things that can be agreed upon as “they make sense” in the whole world, and some of them are related only to one culture, so that culture has to decide whether it should be/remain a common sense. Common sense is a result of human creation of culture, which can be explained as the process that leads us to the truth (anything that is right or real), because what everybody thinks is right should be right. The process of common sense formation: a fact (IS)  processing the fact to make a reasonable common sense  Common sense (OUGHT)* This can be done in any culture in order to create a plausible reality for its people that everybody should agree with (eventually), because it is what is called “common sense”.
Feminism and Male DominanceThis is also connected to the behavior millions of years ago.Males used to be dominant and violent because they used to think that women were only to stay home and do the regular assigned tasks every day.Males viewed women as the weaker sex who couldn’t do anything without relying on men, which was expected to be the cause of the male dominance.Females became equally dominant in the contemporary society to males because of some environmental changes.
Overlapping Word: MetaphorsMetaphors are part of the language that we speak everyday. People tend to use metaphors to deliver ideas and convey information within a society that these metaphors can be understandable. Are metaphors part of culture or language? Both. Language plays a big role in explaining these metaphors using certain words to create something understandable, but those words tend to come from environment and the aspects that we live by everyday, and those aspects are mostly cultural. Conclusion: Metaphors are a product of language in a certain culture.
