This document outlines the steps to create a magazine front cover in an art program. It describes: 1) Using an A4 piece of paper and choosing a background color to match the color scheme. 2) Placing the image on the bottom layer and adding a red outer glow effect. 3) Adding two cover lines in a chosen font and ensuring the colors fit with the design. 4) Including a strap line to draw readers in and highlighting it with a black font and red rectangle. 5) Adding the title and finding that the colors and layout all came together well without blocks.

1. This is a guide to how I made
my music magazine front
cover.
This is my first step:
It has to be an A4 piece of
paper.

2. Second Step:
I have chosen my
background colour so it will
match my colour scheme
and don’t contrast with the
other colous I will be using.

3. Third step:
My image has to be on
the bottom layer so it
doesn't get in the way
of my text.
I have also put a effect
on my image, It’s a red
outer glow which will
set in with my theme.

4. Fourth step:
I added two cover
lines to it in my
chosen font. I also
made sure my colours
used fit in with
everything else.

5. Fifth Step:
I added a strap line to it which
will draw people into my
magazine by wanting to find
out about the different topics.
I also made the font black and
put a red rectangle around it so
it highlights it.

6. Final Step:
I added my title to it and
everything came together, all
the colours go well I think and
nothing is blocked (not eligible)
I also put an effect on the
title, it was an outer glow again
but this time its green and not
so big as it is on the image.

7. This is my layer bar, here you can see what I
have done to create my front cover and all the
layers I have made.
This shows how many layers is needed to
create to form my piece of work. It takes some
time in positioning the layer so some layers
don’t interfere with others.
