Statement
Traffic issue is a tedious long term problem faced by
population in city and urban area. It is mainly due to
capacity problem and some of it due to accidents, bad
weathers and road works.
Goal
To reduce traffic jam problem with the constraint on
capacity as most of the cities have no spaces for
expanding the roads.
Benefits
Gained
• Reduce time loss and increase productivity time
• Reduce burden of government subsidize in fuel
• Prevent environment pollution getting serious
• Reduce accidents due to frustration of driver on the road
• Increase life quality of population

• Class 5.4.1: Self-controlled Transitions, Fully automated vehicles should be
developed to eradicate delayed response from drivers and any sort of human error.
• Class 3: System Transitions, Vehicles and roads shall be merged together as a system.
This solution suggests the idea of public railway transit.
• Class 1.2.4: This solution suggest us to turn the harmful into good. The time trapped
in traffic jam is harmful as it reduces productive time. So, we turn it into productive
time by implementing Wi-Fi in the car with automated driven system.

• A new electric field is added into existing system
of vehicles to reduce the fuel consumption and
pollutants. This is implemented with the hybrid
vehicles.

 Several Improving and Worsening Features : Loss of time and Volume of moving object, Speed
and Object affected harmful factors, Volume of moving object and Ease of operation
 Inventive Principle Achieved from Contradiction Matrix :
5th, 2nd, 34th, 10th, 1st, 28th, 35th, 23th, 15th, 13th, 30th and 12th
 Principle 5th, 23th suggest merging and giving feedback by making information board to give
information about speed limit and road situation to driver for them making decision earlier.
 Principle 2nd suggests separating officers with others such that they can work in different
places and time. It also suggests to take out the rear road that connect to main road at a
certain place to avoid sudden concentration of vehicles on road.
 Principle 1st and 10th suggest divide company into several parts and pre-arrange time schedule
such that workers do not need reach and leave same place at the same time.

 Principle 28th suggests to substitute office into home and thus not everyone needs rush
to office during peak hours.
 Principle 15th and 13th share same idea making the stationary office to be dynamic.
Office work depend merely on internet. Internet network can be provided all around the
place so that officers can work at anywhere instead of inside office.
 Rule A : Cut down/ shut down traffic lights
 Rule C : Replace own cars with public
transports

 Develop fully automated vehicles.
 Built-in Wi-Fi in automated vehicles to turn the
time trapped in traffic becomes productive.
 Use hybrid car to reduce pollution and fuel
consumption.
 Merge vehicle and road so that it can be
translated to railway transit public transport.
 Reduce amount of traffic lights or shut down its
function during peak hours and public holidays.
 Reschedule time table and relocate working place
for workers.
 Develop information board that can display speed
limit and road condition for driver to make
decision earlier.
 Encourage company build office and other
facilities in separate place.
 Implement idea of “Work from Home”.

  • 1. Part 3 Traffic Problem Problem Statement Traffic issue is a tedious long term problem faced by population in city and urban area. It is mainly due to capacity problem and some of it due to accidents, bad weathers and road works. Goal To reduce traffic jam problem with the constraint on capacity as most of the cities have no spaces for expanding the roads. Benefits Gained • Reduce time loss and increase productivity time • Reduce burden of government subsidize in fuel • Prevent environment pollution getting serious • Reduce accidents due to frustration of driver on the road • Increase life quality of population

Part 3 Traffic Problem TRIZ Process Flow Chart  Traffic issue is a major problem and needs to mitigate to reduce time loss.  Traffic become worse during peak hours and public holidays.  Increase of population, vehicles, accidents and bad weather are contributing this issue.  Reducing amount of vehicles on road is one of the solutions to overcome traffic jam.  Implement the solution and keep an eye for it to determine its performance.  Monitor and modify current implemented solutions.  Identify the best solution and develop other effective solutions. It also suggests to take out the rear road that connect to main road at a certain place to avoid sudden concentration of vehicles on road.  Principle 1st and 10th suggest divide company into several parts and pre-arrange time schedule such that workers do not need reach and leave same place at the same time.

Office work depend merely on internet. Internet network can be provided all around the place so that officers can work at anywhere instead of inside office.  Rule A : Cut down/ shut down traffic lights  Rule C : Replace own cars with public transports

Part 3 Traffic Problem Potential Solutions  Develop fully automated vehicles.  Built-in Wi-Fi in automated vehicles to turn the time trapped in traffic becomes productive.  Use hybrid car to reduce pollution and fuel consumption.  Merge vehicle and road so that it can be translated to railway transit public transport.  Reduce amount of traffic lights or shut down its function during peak hours and public holidays.  Reschedule time table and relocate working place for workers.  Develop information board that can display speed limit and road condition for driver to make decision earlier.  Encourage company build office and other facilities in separate place.  Implement idea of “Work from Home”.
