 Make the injured person lay down
 While wearing gloves, remove any obvious dirt
from wound
 Apply pressure directly on the wound until the
bleeding stops

 Always call 911
 Stand behind the person and wrap your arms around
the waist
 Quickly pull inward and upward
 Give CPR, if Necessary

11. Burns
 1st degree burn 2nd and 3rd degree burns
 Common causes are heat, electricity, chemical, light
 Treat only first degree burns
 Cool the burn, don’t use ice
 Cover the burn with a bandage
 For third degree burns always call 911

12. Moderate Head Injury
 Call 911 right away
 Perform CPR if necessary
 Stop any bleeding by pressing a clean cloth on the
wound
 If the injury is serious, don’t move patient and don’t
remove a helmet
 Apply ice packs to swollen areas
