2. In the preliminary process I was given the job of Camera
Man., we decided which roles would be given to who by
deciding who feels most comfortable doing what.
When creating the story board, we first began thinking
about an object that could have a background story to it
that the audience may not know about, which would
make it mysterious, this was a ring box.
Something I found hard was remembering the technical
aspects.
For example, when using the cameras you should check
that it is all setup properly with the right frames per
second and white balance. This was an important thing
that I forgot to check.
Something I also found complicated was knowing when
to stop recording as I was not told to ‘Cut’ during some
of the shots that we created.
Another thing I found hard was trying not to break the
180 rule. I also found it difficult to carry out certain
actions, such as panning, when panning you have to be
steady so no shaky movements are picked up.
I also found it hard to know whether the shots I filmed
were what the rest of my group were imagining as I did
not want to film something completely different to what
they expected.
I like the final piece that we ended up with, i think it
looks smooth and has a professional feel to it.
