Outcomes
Predicting are the connecting links between prior
knowledge and new information in the book
Predictions are related to inferring, of course, but we
predict out comes, events or actions that are
confirmed and contradicted by the end of the story.

Val tried on a pair of shoes. They didn’t fit. She tried on
another pair. They fit, but she didn’t like them. Val tried on
a third pair of shoes. They fit, and she like how they
looked. But the shoes were red. Val wanted blue shoes.

Using Context
The boys were playing ball in the field behind Mr. Kim’s
