Precious Metal Recovery System (PMRS)
INTRODUCTION
Tetronics plasma recovery technology is widely recognised as the “go–to” technology for metal recovery, having supplied over 90 plasma systems
across 4 continents.
It has been used for decades to deliver rapid returns from the recovery of Precious Metal (PMs), especially Platinum Group Metals (PGMs) from spent
catalysts with class-leading recovery rates and the lowest environmental impact and cost base.

WHAT ARE THE TYPICAL RECOVERY
RATES FOR PGMs/PRECIOUS METALS?
We normally guarantee 98% recovery for
Gold, Platinum, Palladium and Rhodium,
though in practise our customers recover
much more than this. It’s worth noting that
we can also recover Rhodium to the same
levels as Platinum and Palladium.

BE USED
FOR - DOES IT HAVE ANY COMMERCIAL
VALUE?
Yes, Plasmarok
®
has very high compressive
qualities and the possibilities for use are vast.
It’s also classified as a product, not a waste,
within the EU by the UK Environment Agency.
IS THERE FLEXIBILITY IN SCOPE OF
SUPPLY?
Yes, Tetronics is able to supply a turnkey
solution, including a final refining option, or
core equipment only, depending on client
requirements.
WHAT IS THE DELIVERY TIME?
Typically 9-12 months from order.
DOES THE FURNACE HAVE TO RUN
CONTINUOUSLY?
No, in fact many customers shut down over
a weekend. Typical restarting time is 5-6
hours.
WHAT IS THE TYPICAL PLANT
FOOTPRINT?
The plant will be approx. 500m2
(5,400sq ft)
depending on scope of supply.
WHAT ELEMENTS CAN BE RECOVERED?
We have been able, in our previous work
on varying feed streams, to recover a huge
range of metals, including: Ag, Au, Co,
Cr, Cu, In, Ir, Fe, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pd, Pt, Re,
Rh, Ru, Sn and to our collector Metal and
Cd, Hg, Pb and Zn to our off-gas system.
However, we are also able to look into the
recovery of many more metals.

  • 2. INTRODUCTION Tetronics plasma recovery technology is widely recognised as the “go–to” technology for metal recovery, having supplied over 90 plasma systems across 4 continents. It has been used for decades to deliver rapid returns from the recovery of Precious Metal (PMs), especially Platinum Group Metals (PGMs) from spent catalysts with class-leading recovery rates and the lowest environmental impact and cost base. Solar Applied Materials Technology Corp Chief Operating Officer FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WHAT ARE THE TYPICAL RECOVERY RATES FOR PGMs/PRECIOUS METALS? We normally guarantee 98% recovery for Gold, Platinum, Palladium and Rhodium, though in practise our customers recover much more than this. It’s worth noting that we can also recover Rhodium to the same levels as Platinum and Palladium. WHAT CAN THE PLASMAROK ® BE USED FOR - DOES IT HAVE ANY COMMERCIAL VALUE? Yes, Plasmarok ® has very high compressive qualities and the possibilities for use are vast. It’s also classified as a product, not a waste, within the EU by the UK Environment Agency. IS THERE FLEXIBILITY IN SCOPE OF SUPPLY? Yes, Tetronics is able to supply a turnkey solution, including a final refining option, or core equipment only, depending on client requirements. WHAT IS THE DELIVERY TIME? Typically 9-12 months from order. DOES THE FURNACE HAVE TO RUN CONTINUOUSLY? No, in fact many customers shut down over a weekend. Typical restarting time is 5-6 hours. WHAT IS THE TYPICAL PLANT FOOTPRINT? The plant will be approx. 500m2 (5,400sq ft) depending on scope of supply. WHAT ELEMENTS CAN BE RECOVERED? We have been able, in our previous work on varying feed streams, to recover a huge range of metals, including: Ag, Au, Co, Cr, Cu, In, Ir, Fe, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pd, Pt, Re, Rh, Ru, Sn and to our collector Metal and Cd, Hg, Pb and Zn to our off-gas system. However, we are also able to look into the recovery of many more metals. TYPICAL PLANT SPECIFICATIONS TYPICAL PLANT DESIGN CAPACITY 1850 tonnes per annum, (500-50,000 tonnes per annum available, depending on feed material) PGM PROCESSING POTENTIAL Circa 130,000 troy Oz PGMs per annum (based on typical European autocat loadings for a 1850 tonne plant) CAPACITY TOTAL SPACE 2,300m2 (25,000sq ft) SMELTING PLANT SPACE 500m2 (5,400sq ft) GROSS SYSTEM POWER CONSUMPTION Max 750 kW typical (depending on scope) POWER SUPPLY Input: 11kV to 400V to suit available site power POWER REQUIREMENTS TYPICAL SITE FOOTPRINT IS AN ENVIRONMENTAL PERMIT REQUIRED? Every PMRS is supplied with an off gas abatement system that ensures the plant meets compliance with local emissions regulations.
