Praying the Beatitudes in Business
Humility
‘Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.’

• I recognise as a workplace leader I have deficiencies
within myself.
• I recognise that I am unable to rectify them on my
own
• I confess my dependence on God
Honestly caring
‘Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted.’

• I commit myself to making business decisions that
benefit those who work for me.
• I commit to embodying my companies values.
• I trust God for the ‘law of reciprocity’ to function in
my workplace.
Being teachable
‘Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth.’

• I chose to be open hearted and minded to receive
truth.
• I chose to establish and further accountability as a
value in my workplace.
• I choose to listen to the insights of others and share
mine.
Proactive
‘Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they
will be filled.’

• Righteouness is ‘right’, ‘holy’, ‘just’.
• I commit to working in a way that promotes
righteousness, justice - ‘shalom’
• I choose to proactively apply truth in the pursuit of
Godly change.
Mercy
‘Blessed are the merciful for they will receive mercy’

• I commit to making my workplace safe place for
people to make and learn from mistakes.
• I trust God for the ‘law of reciprocity’ to function in
my workplace.
Motives
‘Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God’

• Singular focus on God and His purposes for your
workplace.
• Thousands of things you can do what matters is doing
what you are called to do.
• Keeping the main thing the main thing.
Peacemaking
‘Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called
children of God.’

• More than absence of conflict, but shalom
• Requires all Beatitudes to achieve.
Courage
‘Blessed are those who are persecuted because of
righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.’

• I receive God’s encouragement that I am courageous.
• With singular focus I determine to the God thing,
with or without the approval of others, in spite of the
pressure.
