Hoping we can explore the Lam Dong PRAP and how data was collected (ie historical land use change), analysed (ie scenario planning) and used to develop policy (ie PRAP and 27% GHG reduction).

- Key Message: : Introduce the 2 key terms: Activity Data (AD) and Emission Factors (EF) required to monitor and measure all GHG emissions and removals from ALL sectors (industrial, waste, transport, Agriculture Forest and Other Land Uses). Two inputs are needed to estimate emissions and removals from deforestation, forest degradation, and activities that enhance forest carbon stocks. The first is “activity data” which refers to the spatial extent (e.g. hectares) of change in a land use/land cover category. For example, the area of evergreen forest converted to grazing land. The second input is the “emission factor” which refers to the emission/removals of greenhouse gases (GHGs) associated with a unit of activity, for example, the emissions per hectare of conversion of evergreen forest to grazing land. The total emissions associated with a particular category of land use/land cover change are obtained by multiplying the activity data by the emission factor. To continue with the present example, the area of evergreen forest converted to grazing land would be multiplied by the changes in carbon stock to determine the total emissions.
