This study evaluated chronic pelvic pain in 150 females of reproductive age from two hospitals in Pakistan. The subjects had a mean age of 34.8 years. The most common presenting complaint was vaginal discharge, reported in 56% of subjects. Other common complaints included infertility (7%) and dysmenorrhea with pelvic pain (7%). The conclusion is that physicians should take a detailed gynecological history when evaluating and treating chronic pelvic pain in female patients.
