- 1. Mountain biking magazine proposal
- 2. Title Large title Natural colours Azonix font for use in masthead/titles throughout the magazine Will give the impression that the magazine is based around something outdoors.
- 3. Purpose To inform, promote, and entertain. Interviews, Biking gear, trails and bikes. Advertising. Low competition for the magazine.
- 4. Magazine genre & Format The genre is mountain biking. 30-45 pages if released monthly, around 60 pages if released every other month. Subscription service. Similar height and width as an A4 sheet of paper for portability. Text will be written in columns like in a newspaper.
- 5. Competition Specific niche so low competition. The magazine will stand out for being more natural rather than bright colours and having a mountain biker on the front, which is a common theme across MTB magazines. Lower prices than other magazines, so it will cost £4.50.
- 6. Target audience Main target audience is men and women in Herts who have an interest in Mountain biking. Ages 16 – 40, all ethnic groups and all types of salaries. Secondary target audience is the same as the main, except for their age and their income. Ages 16 – 55, enjoy visiting MTB events, incomes between £30,000 and £100,000+.
- 7. House style Natural colours, yellow, red, black, white, brown and green. Modern fonts, Leoscar, Azonix, Manrope and Coves. General text size will be 12 to 14 so that I can fit lots of information on the pages.
- 8. Content Front cover: White space, natural colours, slogans, cover lines, masthead, straplines and puffs. Text, fonts and images. Double page spreads: interviews, biking gear, equipment, trails in Herts and techniques. Frequency of releasing the magazine.
- 9. Distribution and marketing Mainly sold online and in stores across Hertfordshire. Subscription to the magazine. TV ads and Social media ads.
- 10. Resources Equipment: printers, cameras, phones, etc. Software: Word, Quark, Photoshop, google ads. Props: Bikes, helmets, sets (biking trails), etc. People/skills: Author, interviewees, photographers, proofreaders, graphic designers, social media managers, sales and marketing team, etc.
