Financial considerations
Sprite have asked us to produce a radio advert, to help promote the
productand company as a whole.
When creating this commercialradio advert, a number of different
financial considerations need to be taken into account. These things will
have to be paid by the company, to have the advert aired on to the radio.
The price for this alters, depending on the radio station, the length of
advert and what time you want your advert to be played. Smaller
companies will have shorter adverts, and they will be played at awkward
times. This is simply because it costs too much, and the slots during
main day time are taken up by the biggercompanies. For example,
wanting your advert to be aired during rush hour on a Monday morning
will cost considerablymore than a slot on a Sunday night at 11pm.
There are companies such as ‘Radioworks’ who remove any
complications involved in advertising on over 300 radio stations. They
help with targeting, for example if you want to speak to a specific
demographic, they can selectall the stations with those listeners.
When creating a radio advert, you will want it to sound as professional
as possible. For this you will need a professionalstudio with professional
equipment. This could mean you will have to hire a studio to use, and
2. possiblybuy or rent equipment. The cost of rent will vary depending on
how long you will need the studio for, whether you need equipment too
and the size.
Another financial consideration taken into mind will be the actor and
crew fees. The people starring in the advert will have to be paid for their
voice overs and time, as well as the people doing the post editing. These
costs will have to be carefully considered as the crew will want a certain
amount of money, but you will not want to overspend.
The music industry relies on royalties generated by the licensing of
copyrighted songs and recordings as a primary form of payment for
musicians. Songwriters and recording artists usually assign their rights
to a third party for management, instead of attempting to track a song’s
use and seekpayment independently. Song copyrights are often
assigned to a music publisher, while master recording copyrights are
typically assigned to a record label.
