This document outlines the tasks and requirements for a PR4 Me & My Movies project. Students must choose one film genre and analyze 3 examples, discussing title, director, year, and synopsis. They then consider what attracts them to the genre and list 3 factors. Students analyze 3 film trailers of their genre using analysis sheets to identify codes, conventions, and narratives. Finally, they record a podcast discussing their genre analysis and preferences.

3. Task 1: Presentation
• 1.Choose ONE genre and at least 3 examples of films from
that genre. On your slides give the film title, director, year
of production and a brief synopsis. (slides 1,2,3,4)

10. Active Spectatorship
• Active spectatorship theory suggests each
viewer is different and many people in the
audience will question the film and react to
it in different ways to others, not just blindly
accepting the messages.
• Active spectatorship also relates to the idea
of FANDOM where the audience for a
particular film adopts it as their own e.g Star
Wars
• Active spectatorship also takes into account
pre and post viewing experiences, for
example the brilliant marketing campaign for
Prometheus (Trailers/viral marketing)
attracted the film a wide audience, but the
film failed to live up to expectations

11. Task 2
• When your presentation is finished, you use
audio recorder and Soundcloud to record your
podcast ‘Me & My Movies’ containing all of
the information above.
