Welcome to the second Process Relations newsletter in 2013.
New book published: MEMS Product Engineering – Best
Practices for Cooperative Development
Process Relations GmbH
A new book is now available from SpringerVerlag. The title “MEMS Product
Engineering” indicates the domain covered
by this publication. Main author Dirk Ortloff
(founder and CEO of Process Relations
GmbH, Dortmund, Germany) and his coauthors from industry and academia
concentrate their knowledge and their
experiences in the area of development and
manufacturing of micro-electro-mechanical
systems (MEMS). This book provides the
methodological background to directing
cooperative product engineering projects in a
micro and nanotechnology setting. The methodology is based on wellestablished methods like PRINCE2 and StageGate, which are
supplemented by best practices that can be individually tailored to the
actual nature and size of the project at hand. The book is intended for
everyone who takes an active role in either practical product
engineering or in teaching it. This includes project and product
management staff and program management offices in companies
working on innovation projects, those active in innovation, as well as
professors and students in engineering and management. The book is
featured by the foreword of Karen Lightman, Managing Director of the
MEMS Industry Group.
The book is available directly from Springer (holding diverse excerpts
as well) and diverse book stores.

2. New Whitepaper: Make compliance fulfillment count
double
The need for compliance fulfillment, like ISO quality assurance,
information governance, etc., has arrived in R&D. If you like it or not, in
more and more industries the development of new products is
regulated and you need to think early on about how to fulfill all the
documentation and other compliance requirements. But this
whitepaper is not about how to do that – it is about how you gain more
out of the compliance initiative in your company than just compliance
fulfillment.
The whitepaper is available here.
