Customer Development: How to Understand, Empathize and Validate Ideas With Yo...Jake Nielson
Based on the ideas popularized by the Lean Startup movement, this presentation provides an overview of the customer development process. Customer development is the process of honing your idea of your ideal customer into a real, referenceable customer known as an Earlyvangelist.
This presentation builds on the ideas of Steve Blank, Marty Cagan and Alex Osterwalder to help product leaders reduce market risk by inexpensively validating ideas in parallel to creating the actual solution.
A complete, end-to-end process for coming up with your next big idea. In this video I explain in detail how to leverage market, technology and industry trends to come up with your next big idea.
During “work” hours (a difficult term to nail down given I work for a global company), I help the 25th largest brand in the world, SAP, run better in North America. Specifically I direct marketing strategy to generate demand with companies in the professional services industry. I also blog on Business2Community as well as several SAP internal sites. Mostly my topics center on all things marketing, but I also share insights on business innovation. I’ve had the honor of being nominated “Top Talent” within SAP marketing (twice!), and I’ve garnered quite a few awards. Most excitingly: I work with some of the most phenomenal individuals in the business.
Detailed resume available upon request.
I am often asked to present to local college classes about resume building, how to land that first job and other business communication topics. This is a presentation I often use with personal examples from my JR-SR year of college and have presented to Hardin-Simmons University's Business Communication and Job Placement class several times.
