- 6. • Started In1968 as the “TATA COMPUTER CENTRE • First assignment was given to TCS to provide punched card services for TATA STEEL (TISCO) • 1970- TCS started exporting its services. • 1981- TCS Setup India’s First Software research and development centre in PUNE (TATA RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT AND DESIGN CENTRE (TRDDC) • 1999- TCS start E-Commerce Business with Ten People • 2004- E-Business Was Contributing Half a billion dollars to TCS • 9 AUGUST 2004- TCS become public listed company. - 7. • 2006- TCSdesigned ERP system for the INDIAN RAILWAY CATERING AND TOURISM CORPORATION (IRCTC) • 2011- TCS provide cloud based offerings to MSMEs • 2013- TCS awarded six year contract of 1100 crores to provide services to the INDIAN DEPARTMENT OF POSTS • July 2014- It became the first Indian company with over 5 lakh crore market capitalization. • 2017-TCS China was associated as a joint venture with the Chinese government. • In Jan 2017 -The company announced a partnership with Aurus Inc, a payments technology company, to deliver payment solutions for retailers using TCS OmniStore. • 2019-TCS received 2019 American Business Awards from Four Stevies
