Brandi Otto graduated from Tri-Valley High School in Hartford, SD, where she played four sports. She is double majoring in special education and elementary education at the University, with the goal of becoming a kindergarten or special education teacher. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, singing, and volunteering with Big Pal/Little Pal and Adopt-A-Grandparent programs. She has worked at a daycare with preschoolers and assisting mentally disabled adults over the summer. In January, she will take her first international trip to Mazatlan, Mexico with friends.

I also was in Chorus for four years.I have a younger brother and sister who are both still in high school, there are both involved in sports as well.Besides us 3 and our mom and dad, our family is pretty big and I love having get- togethers for Holidays and Birthdays.The only place I have been besides our surrounding states has been the Atlantic Ocean and DisneyWorld – which was the most memorable vacation I have ever had.

Hobbies/ ActivitiesI love to hang out with friends and family, that takes up most of my time (except when I am in school – then studying and homework does )I love to sing (especially to the radio when I am driving by myself)This is my friends and I at my 1st concert (Keith Urban) – I am on the right.

4. Professional GoalsI am double-majoring in Special and Elementary Ed. So I hope to one day become either a Kindergarten teacher or a special ed. Teacher.Along with this I either want to have a Coaching Endorsement, a Kindergarten Endorsement, or a Spanish Minor – I have not yet decided on one of these.I have worked at a Daycare with Preschool kids for two summers and it has been so fun yet rewarding. I hope one day teaching gives me as great a feeling as this previous job has.

5. Where do I want to be in 10 years I am one to say “I never want to grow up” – but because I know we all have to, I have grouped four important things I want to be doing or having in the near future of my life.

7. Adopt-A-GrandparentThis past summer I have had two jobs over the summer before school started. One was what I already told you – working at a Daycare with pre-schoolers. This was in Sioux Falls.My other job was at SD Achieve which is assisting mentally disabled adults. This was definitely an eye-opener for me but this helped me to realize that I want to work with people with have exceptionalities.

8. MEXICO IN JANUARY!The first week in January during Christmas break I plan to go to Mazatlan Mexico with three friends. We will be staying on a resort near the ocean. I am completely excited yet somewhat nervous because I have never been out of the country and only on a plane once!
